1/8 Sacle Lamp Post

#1 Post by Nm1cciola »

To whomever sees this post I am just asking to see if anyone knows where I can purchase a 1/8 scale Victorian lamp post. I am working with and 1/8 scale kit and I know that a 1/6 scale would dwarf it, Anyone's advice is welcome. The G scale train lamp light I bought a few years ago is just too out of scale and too small, which I didn't know at the time. The few posts that I did see were these https://www.hobbylobby.com/Christmas/Ho ... BWEALw_wcB and this listing https://www.shindigz.com/mini-city-stre ... ktEALw_wcB, I know both listings are too big and out of scale and there are no good dimensions on both said listings. But with a few mods I maybe be able to make these work but if anyone knows good way to work around these or listings that I haven't seen yet aside from having it commissioned would be appreciated.

Before anyone does bring it up I did research 3D printing specifically as well and although I do see a plethora of some things that I am looking for specifically this listing https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d ... ppost-1749 but I am 3D printing noobie and really have very little to no idea how to get this off the ground so was looking for an alternative.

Did you check Shapeways for something that might be close to what you need?

I think you'd come closest looking thru the doll house stuff. They're ~1:12 or 1 inch scale, and depending on how prominent your lightpole is you may get away with it. Otherwise you could pick up something like this -

And using brass rods and some foam you could make yourself a pole or 2 at the height you really need.
But at this time of the year with all the Christmas Village stuff starting to come out, is the best time to be looking for accessories like this. HTH
