SOME TABLETOP PHOTO FUN...
Some new fun. My first real opportunity to use my new small, rechargeable LED cube lights for some table top photography.
They are marketed to video recording professionals & enthusiasts but have many crossover applications.
They allow me to photograph a small GK using the same techniques I would apply lighting a real life model in a photo studio. They are rechargeable, so no wires to deal with and their small size makes it kind of easy to fabricate the same type of light modifiers used with full size lighting, only in miniature (barn doors, snoots, grids, softboxes, etc.). These little units make it very easy to manipulate lighting ratios, positioning and colors to achieve some dramatic effects right on the table top.
I also found a small LED worklight at the local hardware store that I can use for tabletop soft lighting effects. I fabricated a clip-on grid to add some directional control for it when needed.
P.S....The model is a slightly modified NY3DCreations’ 1/8 scale Avengers Black Widow. The white vinyl graphics were applied to a piece of black plex. Then mounted to old Horizon resin base sections.
Cheers!

Great painting, wonderful lighting. A beauty of a display.
Regarding the cube lights, how long do they hold the charge?

I haven't kept a clock on them but I think they will go for at least an hour or more on the highest light power setting.

Re: SOME TABLETOP PHOTO FUN...
Here is some more fun with the cube lights. I did a re-shoot of my little "Mummy" Anck-su-namun, adding some harsh color accents.
I made variations in the position of the main soft light.
I chose one for some photoshop enhancement ...
Thanks for look'n

Alice, (portrayed by Milla Jovovich) from the zombie apocalypse movie series Resident Evil. This 1/6 kit features her in a stealthy ninja outfit seen at the beginning of the fourth movie installment, Resident Evil: Afterlife.

Very cool.
Helena is here at hand;
And the youth, mistook by me,
Pleading for a lover's fee.
Shall we their fond pageant see?
Lord, what fools these mortals be! -Puck
