Its in Phoenix this year. Want to attend. Dont think I will show anything but would like to see everything and vendors etc. Do you need to be a member to attend? Is it worth the $30...??
Also Phoenix in August should be fun.....

You don't have to be a member to attend. But, you do have to be a member to enter models in the contest. If you are a modeler, and have the chance to attend IPMS Nationals I absolutely would. I have been going to nationals every year since 2011 and love it.

This might be the first one I miss since I started going. I currently have hotel reservations, but as a Vendor it is a longgggg haul to get there from Atlanta so I will wait until the week before to decide for sure.

Re: IPMS National Convention ?
Ive been going prolly since '04, and it's definitely worth it. Also, the Phoenix guys put on a good show. But in all honesty, I haven't been to a bad show - even I had no problems in Anaheim.
I forget how much the membership is, but the new newsletter/magazine makes it worth the price alone. Plus it's from the membership type articles so if you have a good build idea, document it, and sooner or later they will print it.

Yes! There are a number of categories where resin (and vinyl) plays a big part. Figures prolly have the most. There was even on National Con (Anaheim?) where there was a Paper category. So "Plastic" is very loosely based.JMCFAN wrote:Here is a question....I know its IP ( plastic) modeling society....are vinyl and resin kits allowed...??

"Our" genre of models always has a good showing. By all means finish him up and get him on the table.JMCFAN wrote:Maybe I can finish my Wrightsons Frank..... only been 10 years in the making....
