San Diego Comic Con 2009

#1 Post by mjbare »

Just a pre-survey to see how many of us have already gotten their tickets for this year.

I do have the wifey going with me all four days this year. She kept getting jealous of all the SF stars who were there last year and the year before. I hope this year the programs going to be good for her.

Bought my tickets the Saturday of last year's con to beat the rush and save some bucks. This year 4-day tickets sold out even faster. :(

Hotels this year just as much as a pain to get as usual vs. previous years.

Always something to do everyday!

SDCC's hotel situation is getting more frustrating every year. This year was supposed to be easier & more streamlined but it took me longer to book a room than last year. Kind of takes the fun out of going, but we're going nonetheless.

Can try for it here. Was able to get another Clubhouse member last year a rare con exclusive. Shoot me a PM if interested.

I'm heading down on Friday. I'll be there all day and I'm taking some sculpts with me. I'll be checking out the Shifflet brother's sculpting panel and hopefully hanging out with a bunch of sculptor friends after the con.

Here's to good times!!

You might not like what going to say about the comic con
" beware" :P

1. Comic con should be split up into two different convention
centers due the increasing interest,
one center for movies and tv the other
Comics toys cartoons etc.
There are way to many that go to this.
the cops even had to be called out due rowdyness

Or have it twice a year january, have nothing but comics toys and cartoons

and july just have movies tv etc.
This event is getting way to big for itself

I know they have smaller cons, the rest year
but something like this have to give

2. I don't really understand the logic
and hub, bub of the con? I know movies companies have to push
their product, but it's becoming over kill,.
The fiasco of Twilight fans pushing and shoving
mostly preteen girls
come,on it's movie! for kripes sake!

I've too been many sci fi cons
in the early to mid 90's those were days.
Where you could walk around without around without tripping over
somebody every step you make

You didn't have endless wannabe's to deal with.

I got see alot when I went with my dad.
before all general crazyness exploded .
I am glad I will never go to sdcc I don't need
the stress .
Nostalgia can be a bad thing, especially when you are led by it.
