1/20 Triceratops 'Uncle Beazley'

#1 Post by Kyuzo2802 »

I finally finished this magnificent kit sculpted by one of the best paleo artists David Krentz. Base was made with dense foam, air drying clay, acrylic paste, gesso, and wood filler. For ground texture, ground soil, sawdust, and modeling forest litter was used. Flora are paper made, or things found in my backyard. I wanted to portray a lone bull trike ambling along the shore of an ancient bayou so I added the lily pads and water feature with resin. Both airbrush and hand brush used with acrylics, inks, washes, and pastels. Hope I did it justice.

Very colorful. I love the patterning.
And that base is awesome!

Beautiful work.
Helena is here at hand;
And the youth, mistook by me,
Pleading for a lover's fee.
Shall we their fond pageant see?

Thank you!! The base was quite a project with many false starts. Okay with it overall and learned some things along the way for future projects. :)

I used a 2 part epoxy: resin + hardener. There are many brands out there and got this one from Amazon, brand name Shabebe but I've successfully used other brands from your local crafts store. 8)
