It had already been built, painted, and broken before I got it.
When I got the kit, it was missing some of the back fins. So, I had to sculpt new ones, and attach them.
The painting went pretty quickly. Not a lot of tricky things to worry about other than the poor guy stuck to the bottom of his foot. (oh, and the eyes)
I did get to try a few new things with it though. Got to use my airbrush to paint the fins.
Also got to try out the Army Painter tones. Which are kind of like washes, but different. They worked extremely well for blending the colors for the teeth and claws.
Using the new tools and techniques seemed to pay off.
This kit not only earned me a Silver at WF 2022
It was also selected to be photographed by Fine Scale Modeler
Only my second silver in the 20 years I have been entering. (first one was also kaiju)
