I felt the need to close this post with a pic of the completed sculpt. Its my second attempt at a portrait sculpt and im really happy with it, the resolution of the pic isnt very good but all i have is my iphone at the moment. Attemting a female next!
ive got a photographer friend coming around next week so im hoping i can get some better res pics up sometime. Its missed out alot of detail Cant wait!
Thank you! It means alot
Yeah i like to put in an expression suited to the character, it makes for a more interesting and fun to sculpt. I based the sculpt on the film Unforgiven but i left out the cuts and scaring as i figured they could be done later with a scalple.
Im thinking of making it into a kit at some point but ive no idea how to go about sculpting 1:6 scale guns.
I decided to take the hat off, it was troublesome trying to sculpt with it on and also taking photos because of the shadows but if i make it into a kit the hat can be added.
Beautiful likeness there, dude. Might just cast and sell the head. There are alot of 1/6th scale guns on evilbay (Ebay). I found a .44 Magnum (most powerful handgun in the world) for a future project. But I had to scratch-build a Buntline Special for my 1/5th scale Wyatt Earp.
Thanks dude! Much appreciated!!
Awesome! Yeah if they are already out there i might as well just cast and sell the head, as soon as i meet the requirements on here of course. I'll need to check the requirments again.
thats a pretty darned good attempt i say. can definitely see Clint there. keep up the sculpting man. it will be interesting to see the difference a year from now. you got the chops for it i reckon....
Thanks Tim! I will do, hopfully i'll get better too
I think better photos will be a great improvent too, he has stubble but the camera hasnt picked it up. Hopefully i'll have better quality ones this weekend
Ive learnt so much since seeing all the tallent here at the Clubhouse and picking up tips.
as you know I have been watching this one grow mate, and its awsome lokking forward to the next thing and I'm sure you will sell quite a few if you develop some into kits
Thanks again mate!
Decided to try my hand at Angelina Jolie next, ive not tried to sculpt a woman yet but im sure it'll be fun learning
Looking forward to making my kit next too, just figuring out what and who to do first
So ive gone back to hacking at my Clint sculpt, dont you just hate when you think its finished only to take photos of it and realise something is just not right about it...
I didnt realise it but its how its been working with me too, i just thought id finished the sculpt every time. Lol
I read a sculptor on here set up a camera and monitor to work from while they sculpt, which now i undrstand it, it isnt a bad idea!
