I wish I could go but it's not gonna happen for me this year. I'm still broke from Wonderfest. Have fun and take lots of pictures.

kits & model contest, movies on the big screen (GVKK this year!), costume contests, 2D art, trivia contests, G video game tournament, helpful seminars (like WF), guest speakers...

when they showed GMK, the actual director was there at the viewing...he was sitting in the same group (we had 2 full theater rows)...and was cranked that everyone loved it!

the movies on the big screen are one of the best things going there...i've caught all the 2000 USA premieres...G2K, GXM, GMK, GXMG, SOS, final wars...

I've known about Gfest forever but never went....I found out the theme this year is G vs. KK and now I have to go because I love the 62 Godzilla and that Toho kong....The movie is awesome too.....

It's well worth going. Stan Hyde does a great job with the model-related programming and he's just a terrific guy to shoot the breeze with. In the past, people have been encouraged to bring models and hang out in the demo room working on them. It's a lot of fun.

p.s. If you see Stan, be sure to ask him to tell you modeling injury stories and that you hate Minya. :)

Hey Kenny,

"that should do it for now... should be around umm 3 g's..."

Is that 3 Godzillas or $3,000!!! That IS the biggest
problem with "G" kits. The LOUSY exchange rate!!!
That G vs Meg. IS a great kit, saw it at WF.

Later, Matt K.

Hey Kenny,

You can order the Monster X kit, (and any others still available) directly from T's Facto... That's pretty much why MOST guys around here across the Pacific don't carry them... That being said, you should be able to get one from Matt or Greg @ KaijuModeler.com

If interested, I'd do it soon, as what usually happens is once they're gone, EVERYBODY all of the sudden wants one, and are willing to pay STOOPID money for them on ebay or YahooJapan...

I'd love to get to G-Fest but we should be either having a baby, or just had one that weekend...

Yes... The $$$ on some "G"s is VERY steep indeed.
But sometimes you've got to say... "what the heck"!!!
(I think that line is from a movie)

Case in point... I actually pre-ordered the '64 G Puppet
that John Tucky (X-O Facto) put up a couple of weeks ago.
Had to... did you see the scale of that one???
My plan is to repaint it, add "glass" eyes, and maybe even
(most likely) animatronics and sound. Set up on a "sand/dirt"
base like his appearence in that movie We'll see.

Like I said... "Sometimes you've got to say..."

I hear ya Matt, and thats how I am usually 95% of the time..

I usually buy kits and not think twice about it

and the more I talk about it the more that '54 Sakai Kit is beckoning to me... :D :D

I just looked up that puppet u bought and I agree.. that is really impressive.. are u gonna fill it in with anything or keep it hollow?

Hey Goth,

If I DON'T do the "animatronics" thing, I'm
going to make something like an insert that
slips in but leaves it where I CAN use it if I
want. But I would REALLY like to try adding
"animatronics". Would be a CRAZY project.
Toy bashing, R&D, fabricating, who knows???
You never know untill you try, Right???
We'll see. JT says it isn't shipping til August,
so I have some time to think about it.

Later, Matt K.

PS - Did you see the demo video JT mentioned on AFM Board???
