Rest in peace artist NEAL ADAMS, 1941-2022

#1 Post by Todd P. »

Working with writer Denny O'Neil, Neal Adams defined the Batman for every generation since the late 1960s. He also worked with Aurora, creating instruction sheets and box art.

His son Jason "Spyda" Adams used to be an active Clubhouse member.

Oh my goodness.

I hadn't realised he was 80 either

My sympathies to Jason and all Neal's family & friends.

I met the man a few times and each time he and his wife were extremely gracious.

I'm proud to have some of his art on my walls, both prints and sketches he did for me on those prints to make them more personal and precious.

While most of his fans will remember him as a giant in the field of comic art I'll remember him as the front-line champion for Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster who led the fight to have their creator rights for Superman restored and helped them get the compensation they so richly deserved.

For me, that's the legacy of a real human being.
