Shawn Caldwell - RIP

#1 Post by belrog999 »

I just read on Facebook Shawn Caldwell was found deceased in his home. Anybody know if this is true? If it is, it's a sad day, indeed. I hope it's just misinformation.

RIP Shawn. His work was always inspiring, and the pics of his cooking always made me hungry. He'd been having a real rough time of late, so I hope he's finally at peace.

Always such a friendly guy.
Does anybody know who is handling things? I bought a piece from him back in May by money order (which he cashed) but never sent the item- which I wasn't worried about because I knew he was struggling and relying on others to drive him to the post office.
I was hoping I would be able to have it sent to me.

Shawn was a great guy. I was lucky enough to hangout with him after hours at a chiller show and enjoyed his homemade chili. Rest well my friend you'll be missed.

Facebook posts indicate no one is taking responsibility for Shawn's estate. A friend is looking for family members who are -- as I understand it -- willing to help.

Looking at his page he may have had pets. I hope someone is looking after them if he does.

Todd,im calling the funeral parlor tomorrow and try to arrange something if no one claims him.
He was an asset in the hobby and will surely be missed. I'm honored to have called him a friend.

I am sorry to hear this, Shawn was a "Prince Among Men" on these boards as long as I can remember. A sweet guy that will be sorely missed.

You are a good man.

I'm sure we could all pitch in to get him some type of reasonable funeral.

I remember talking to him about his granddaughter with great fondness. Did they have a falling out? It saddens me that a family would drift apart like that.

That's Saul for you, good one man.

I dealt with Shawn a couple times, met him a couple times, was always a good guy. May your paint remain fresh and airbrush never clog.
