My condolences to his surviving family.
I had someone contact me with the sad news earlier today, and I was trying to find the right words . . . nicely put Paul.

Although I never met or spoke with Mike, I've seen a couple of videos/interviews with him, and he came over as a gentle soul who wished well for everyone - qualities to admire.

Glad I own some of his work (maybe 5 or 6 pieces total - not the quantity that some of you have), and it always struck me what a unique, talented and prolific artist he was.

So sad to see one of the communities treasures leave us.

My condolences to his Family, his close friends, and anyone who knew him.

R.I.P. Mike.

Rest peacefully Mr Parks. As many of you are doing, I too will pay homage to him by pulling out one of his kits this weekend, and reflect on what a great guy he was as I build it.

I have a few of Mike's kits I got back in the 90's, every time I look at them I will remember him.
I'm sure he is with the Lord and amongst many other great sculptors!
God Bless Mike and his loved ones!

I do hope somebody does try continue his legacy?
By reintroducing his line of Tiny terror and other creations
to new generation of modelers.. He made his models fun and affordable..

Would somebody please post a picture of him? I'm sure I've seen him at Wonderfest, but I always have problems remembering names.

Larry's pic is from 2014, here's one of Rob Mattison's (pugknows) "Monster Model Review" videos filmed at the Resznhedz Model and Toy Spring Show way back in 2000 . . .
Someone will have a more recent pic i'm sure.

So Sad. I just read the news now. Mike was one of the nicest guys in the hobby. My deepest sympathy to family.

This is so very sad... I was going to list some kits (I did one, just today) on eBay and someone wrote me to say he had passed. I didn't know him well but used to communicate with him and he was always nice. I so admired is work and spirit. I joined today to confirm this and it was the first thread.

So dedicated and inspiring. I might need to keep his kits for now... Wow. What a loss. Thanks for the great stuff, Mike...

Thanks. I might have to build one for me. Not sure I have a complete kit. I did this for someone else, who, I think quickly sold it. This is probably my favorite of his kits.

One of the founders of this hobby. Mike helped me re- connect with a friend of mine back in 1993 that I had not talked to since the mid 80s. He was helpful and unselfish. Also, one tremendous and talented sculptor. My deepest sympathies go out to his closest friends and family. God Bless Mike and be at peace.

Mike was a super nice guy and I'll miss him. I got to know him and Danya at the modeling shows throughout the years and always enjoyed seeing them. WF won't be the same without him.

Here's one of my favorite pieces by Mike that I painted for an article in KB Magazine, in what seems such a long time ago...
