don't like priest without rob ….

listening to Priest without Halford is like listening to Maiden with out Bruce just doesnt work ….

…. JP without Rob was just fine live, playing the classics. But I can't think of anything memorable they did without Rob either.

I have to say,Judas Priest released the Painkiller album in 1990,and it sounded alot like the first Fight album that Rob released in 1992 after he left Judas Priest.Painkiller was one of their best albums,and with the Fight album being so similar,how could anyone not like Fight,unless it wasnt given a good listening to?
OK – I’ll keep using the “personal taste” phrase – were never going to agree on everything – not even US
I’ve tried to be brutally honest with my thumbs up / thumbs down on their studio albums – all 16 of which I have listed below. The album gets a thumbs up
(green) if I felt there were at least 4 AWESOME tracks on the album – and I think most of those so coloured are 90%+ perfection.
Again – it will be down to personal taste, so I know some of you will disagree. In fact, given that Anthony & Trev seem to appreciate the “speed/thrash” aspects of the whole genre more than myself, I would not be surprised if you both liked the 1988/1990 albums more than I. Anthony has already said that he feels Painkiller is one of their best albums – I thought it was a complete waste of time and money. I tried playing it again this-morning – does nothing for me (sorry!

)
I’m also curious what you think of “Jugulator”. I think it’s their worst studio album ever – WAY too “speed/thrash” for me. Love the vocals by Tim Owens (who totally sounds like Halford in much of the album), but I just can’t listen to that music. I’m also struggling with “Nostradamus” – but for different reasons.
Also - I’m not repeating this to try to “convert” you but because I think you are missing out on some AWESOME Priest tracks – PLEASE listen to the links on the previous page (that means all the way through, end to end, more than once!
) I really don’t see what’s not to like if you appreciate classic Priest. If you do this and still don’t like them – I will admit a crushing defeat at the hands of my peers, if you decide they are good - you owe me a beer (heck - owe me a beer anyways - I never turn down alcohol from friends
)
Anyways – here’s the “Spike likes these” list – wouldn't mind hearing other peoples thoughts and preferences.
