IPMS UK Scale ModelWorld Telford 12-13th Nov

#1 Post by Ant »

Just a heads up for those in the UK - It's the IPMS UK Nationals next month - considered possibly the largest model show in the world. Although a conventional show (mostly planes & armour) there are a huge number of models on show, and a lot of traders selling all sorts of tools & materials you just never see elsewhere.

Kathy & I will be manning the Sci Fi and Fantasy SIG tables along with a few other SIG members - should have a wide selection of built-ups on display.

I'll also have some of my Hellraiser Puzzleboxes and acrylic TIE Fighter stands available.

More info here http://www.smwshow.com/

Drop by and say Hi!

Great show, well worth a visit - You can get supplies and bases etc here you just dont see in regular model shops.

Hmmm! I would love to go there for the Pegaso and Andrea stuff.
Especially the small wooden bases you can put these on.
But i'm affraid my money will all go in the UKGK , Well infact the money has almost gone
before i have even got there , on the Monkey and pred kits.

Hope it is a good show for everyone

Is the show just minature style stuff?

Or is it a mixture of everything?

May go next year you see

Had a great show over the weekend - our SIG table had a huge range of stuff on show, and there was quite a bit more SF scattered around than pervious years. Sure it's no Wonderfest by any stretch but it's good to see a steady increase.

Generally the show was very busy, I heard attendance was definitely up this year too. There were also some incredible Mobeius & Pegausus bargains to be had for the very early and very quick - Wonderland Models had many of their older kits at ridiculous knockdowns - the large Seaview for £29.99, large flying sub for £19.99, Invisible man, Frankie, Spidy, Green Goblin for £9.99 WoW '05 Creature £14.99 and some other Trek kits so at similar discounts.

The Seaviews & flying subs went so quickly, I'm pretty sure a certain other dealer just bought them up bulk to resell at twice the price

I did well in the contest - Pan's Labyrinth took gold in the Single Figures - Detailed category and also was placed best SF/Fantasy overall, Y-wing took Bronze and 1/48 TIE was commended in SF Vehicles, and District 9 Alien and T800 busts were also commended in figures.

Good to catch up with Scott and the other oddboyz too - glad you enjoyed the show - and everyone else we spoke to!

I've got a lod of pics to stick up in due course :)

As i have looked at a few and want them

First is the grey matter minatures girl holding the big gun , what size in cm is it.
Also what size it the starship trooper model

And lastly the aeroplane with the hundreds of people on the base , are they actual minature people

Not sure which girl with big gun you mean?

The starship troopers bug is 1/35th scale - abour 6" across the leg span

Yes they are all individual people, all painted separately! Figures are by Preiser.
