Tony W's Jersey Fest Fair Report ... Is Finally Complete!

#1 Post by AntMan »

Hello,

I just completed the final touches on the first part of my report on this year's Jersey Fest Fair.

You can view (all of the gory details) by going here: http://www.scififantmodmadrealm.com/Jer ... 012-1.html .

(This is probably the quickest report I've ever done). :2guns:

(Let's see if I can get the remainder of the report written and posted by next week).

Stay tuned.

The Seminar was nothing short of Awesome ! Big Props to Steve Parke,Rick Cantu , Saul Alvarez , Jim Capone for a very detailed informative lecture. Thanks to Garage Kits.US for including the paints and Black Heart Enterprises for including The Wolfman Bust in the Awesome price of the class. all these guys were very helpful and answered any and all questions. my daughter had a blast and thanks again to all you guys . and a special thanks to Dave Tomarchio for being the Impetus in putting this thing together. anyone who is nearby should really consider hitting the vendor show. the room is pretty huge. Tom a Big Thanks to You for guiding Emma . i can really tell she was having a great time doing her first paint job. when i planned this trip it was for selfish reasons . Emma quickly nipped that in the butt yesterday when she refused to give me a go on the Airbrush.

Thanks so much for posting this! I'm living vicariously through the pics. Man would have loved to see Steve paint up the Dracula bust.

Hey Guys,

You are very much, welcome.

("B", bald spot?? I gotta go back and check it out...Which pic was it? Maybe I can add some MORE highlights to it, along with making it brighter, to REALLY bring life to it. ).

I second what everyone else has been saying about this show! (Actually, I third and fourth it). I just arrived back home a couple of hours ago. I had been there since 6:45 this, uhhh yesterday morning. It's now a bit before 1 am (Sunday), and I am still stoked from Jersey Fest Fair.

Mann! For a first-time show, what a Great Event!

This is the first time I've participated in any of these types of shows as a vendor, and I was pleasantly surprised with how I ended up doing.

Also, Dave was kind enough to hire my eldest son Anthony as 1 of the staff workers, and even though the day was long, Anthony was very happy in the end.

We had a surprise visit from one of the Batmobiles at the show.

I ran into many personal friends of mine at Jersey Fest Fair, many whom I KNOW have never attended this type of show before.

I ended up taking a Bronze for one of my entries in the contest. (Don't know which one, and I still haven't grabbed the award, partially due to my vendor responsibilities).

I ended up scarfing up the 2 versions of the Wonder Woman figures (which I had missed out at the Wonderfest show earlier this year).

(What else????) Oh, and I took my usual healthy compliment of pics.

With all of these spoilers of mine here, I need to bundle 'em up, expand a bit on each, clean up my pictures and
weave them all together into my tale of this show.

(I actually expect to have this done in the next couple of days).

Stay tuned....

Thanks, guys!

I'm actually working on the rest of this report, and it should be done later on today.

J-O-H-N!!!! I didn't get a chance to meet you, but ironically, I just went through your 3 comic book character figures which you had out on display, in the contest. (The Phoenix, Captain Marvel, and The early Flash).

Are those all commissioned pieces? Or, are they available for purchase?

I'm particularly digging the Phoenix. (In addition to everything else about this figure, especially that really kewl metallic finish on her and the supporting "flames", I really love how you did her eyes. Such a simple idea, but what a powerful effect - especially for those who are familiar with this comic book character).

THANKS! for bringing all of them to the show.

Al,

It was my pleasure to Emma out, by the looks of her COTW she
did an awesome job.

That was too funny when she would not let you use the AB.

thanks man, i tried to meet as many as i could. Surprised at all the people who showed up. Was just getting tapped on the shoulder every few meeting a new person, but thats what the show is about.

Just some personal customs i took wit me, who knows if they end on ebay or not.

Emailed your link to a few people who went to the show and some who didn't, they liked it to see what was going on. Thanks for doing it again!

Great "report", Tony. I enjoyed meeting you and chatting with you for that minute or so at the end of the show. And thanks for the tip about your website article on model hoarding. Very funny stuff. You could be a case study for the Hardcore Modelers Manual.
