The Devil Bat

#1 Post by Night-Owl »

Greetings! This is a display build up I did for Posthumous Productions using their Devil Bat customizing set on the Aurora/Moebius Dr. Jekyll as Mr. Hyde kit. Its a nifty parts set and the head can be left unglued so you can switch out the two versions. The photos are by John Apgar. Questions and comments always welcomed.

Great job Rick. 8)
This is a cool conversion kit for the JH kit, I love the subject.
I'm going to be ordering one of these.

For anyone who has not seen the film, I have a 3D version of the movie here:

Sweet! I'm going to need one of these at some point! I saw the pic in AFM and it sparked my interest. I know awhile back David Grant had sculpted a Bela/Devil Bat scene for Dimensional Designs, at least I think it was Dimensional, but I always kicked myself for not getting it. This is a cool substitute!

Where can I get one of these conversion kits? I'm interested.

BTW I didn't know the Devil Bat movie was in 3D. I recently picked up a colorized version.

And did you know that there was a followup movie to Devil Bat. It is titled Devil Bat's Daughter. But not as good as the 1st movie.

The movie wasn't released in 3D, I used video editing software to convert it to 3D.

Great job Rick.
As always, your work is top notch.

Very interesting conversion set.
Not quite my thing, but it good to know it's out there and to see it done so well.

Nice work on this guy! Nice to see something different than all the typical subjects we see in GK's.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone! Ken; Posthumous doesn't have a web site; a lot of their stuff is listed on the Cult of Personality site

http://copp.headplug.com/

The Devil Bat isn't listed yet. The other way to reach Posthumous is at this address:

Rick-This is beyond cool! I'm speechless!! I may have to put the Peter Cushing Frankenstein conversion for this kit on hold and do this instead!

Price on the Devil Bat set is $50 plus $6 shipping. I will not be updating the site until January when my work schedule allows (working for a dotcom retailer, I'm lucky to get about 90 minutes downtime a day this time of year). John had some issues with Sandy and currently is helping his parents with some ongoing health problems, but is still keeping with his 4-6 week ordering timeframe. I have a few Tingler and Cushing sets in stock, I'm waiting on some '31 Karloff sets for the Moebius, but best bet on the Devil Bat is to order direct from John. :vampire:

Bruce; your kit went out this morning, so you should have it by Friday. :D I spoke to John at Posthumous this morning and I WILL have Devil Bat sets at Resintopia and will update the website shortly thereafter. John was HOPING to debut another classic horror set at the show, but one of his sculptors (that would be ME) is IMPOSSIBLE to deal with... 8)
Rick, I saw this in person at Chiller and it just knocked me over! VERY nice!
