If you have an old link from the clubhouse... easy find

#1 Post by tony808 »

I'm not sure if anyone knows about this but while searching for old links from the previous version of the ClubHouse,
I realized that the links are accessible. Just need a few url modifications to it.

For example...
Old Version Link
http://www.theclubhouse1.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=22226&highlight=mold

New Version Link
http://theclubhouse1.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=22226&highlight=mold

Notice the difference in the urls as well as the similarities?
Just copy the red part of the old url after the
"http://www.theclubhouse1.net/forums/"

and paste it after the new url
http://theclubhouse1.net/phpBB3/

Sorry for my confusing tip... I hope it helps a bit.

Thanks Tony. Wish I had known or noticed that before I deleted all my bookmarked posts that no longer worked

Thanks for the info, Tony! I have about 20 links from the old forum that I thought were no good anymore. It's a good thing I didn't delete them.

Thanks again! :D

Tony, this is so handy, I made it a sticky for a while.

I've got a bunch of "busted link" links from the previous version still bookmarked and this is the cat's meow!

Perhaps the forum owner can modify the htaccess file to do a 301 redirect automatically. It will save a lot of time.

you could open your bookmark file in a text editor, and do an automatic search/replace for all the old text with the new text

Thanks Tony,
Not sure if I should be posting this here, but it seems related--when I am at the Model Museum and click the user name of the modeller, I get an error page.

Not so easy to find if you're looking for that "What does everybody look like" thread.

I found the "son of What does everybody look like?" thread:
http://theclubhouse1.net/forums/viewtop ... sc&start=0

And contained within was a link to the original ( which I've edited to an active link  ) :

Lots of lost pics, but a few good ones still remain. Shall I bump 'em or would you like the honors?
