Pan Pastels

#1 Post by oddioh »

Hi all,

I came across these Pan Pastels at the local art store yesterday and thought they might be of interest to some of the folks here.

http://www.dickblick.com/products/panpa ... g-pastels/

They're basically chalk pastel pigment in a flat tray, similar to a lady's eyeshadow or rouge. Looks like they've got lots of different colors - available individually or in sets.

I haven't used them personally, but they looked like they could be very handy for those who enjoy using chalk pastel in their paint-ups. If anyone has used 'em, I'd love to know how they worked out...

Cheers and happy modeling!

I bought a few of the sets at at local Art Shop that had them on sale, I really like them! Much easier to work with than the other chalk pastels I was using, definitely recommend to anyone to pick up a couple and try them out.

Yes they are great and really hold well. Tom...pun13...mentioned this on a road trip to a local hobby shop. A bunch of us purchased a few colors and were seriously impressed with them. Definitely worth the purchase and will last you a long time.

Hey guys,

Cool, thanks for the reviews! I was a little hesitant due to the price, I'm glad to hear they work well. I'll grab a few next time I'm by the shop!

Thanks again,

Been using them for a numbers of years now and they are the
best pastels on the market.

Rich in pigment and they stay put when sprayed with dullcote.
They came out with a darker pigment line that works awesome.

Highly recommend picking them up and giving them a whirl.

Tossed my ole stick pastels out and never looked back.
