I'd forgotten to come back and view the stuff you added after your initial post![]()
A joy to browse through. Loved the shots from the balcony - you can imagine the vibe when the crowds were in.
I also learned that "kaiju" is Japanese for "Strange Beast" - I know - I'm slowEvery time I see that Zilla I get an urge to buy - and that Scott Rizzo diorama did NOT help in my resisting! That Rodan dio is impressive too - especially the water.
Nineteen pages of well laid out details, well-written prose and quality photo's sharing the talent and ingenuity this hobby has to offer. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness and the time you took to do this![]()
My thanks again to everyone who participated in EVERY way.
.
"HMS",
Thanks for your very kind words. (They are REALLY appreciated!)
Sometimes, things just fall in place with these model show reports of mine. I had no idea ahead of time that Dave was going to be set up in that particular building at Rider, or that the balcony was going to be available to use, and would also be overlooking the vendor room.
Another really nice touch which Dave set up was that wide screen TV, which when plugged into a video cam recorder allowed the participants to view up close what the program presenters were doing. (This also came over very well in my pics).
Those completed Curse of the Werewolf busts which were out on display on Saturday at the show was a nice compliment to the emphasis and attention I paid to their initial painting class which took place on that Friday.
Those conversations I had with Jesse about his paint line, along with the fact that they were used to paint the COTW busts the previous Friday also helped breing things together with my report.
Also, those really nice model entries in the contest still have me "WOOWWWWING!" over them, (almost a month later, after the show).
...(and I agree with you, about Scott Rizzo's Godzilla scene).
Ok, let me bring this baby to a close, before I end up adding another 19 pages worth of commentaries and editorials on my report.
Thanks again for the compliment!
Oh, by the way, just as a warning, I'm working on trying to get the remainder of my Wonderfest 2012 report complete (hopefully by this upcoming weekend).
I ended up taking over 1,000 pictures at that show, and am around 2/3 of the way through, going and hand-editing each and every picture, (to get them as clean as I can).
