Paid Stupid Money

#1 Post by starmanmm »

I can't believe that I got caught up in the auction... I paid close to $100 for the Andrea Miniatures Painting Girls in Miniature - English Version.

I just got caught up in the bidding and now I own a book that I have paid $100 for. I haven't paid that much for a book since college.

I guess once I get it ( and I do hope it is worth it) the shock will be over and I can lose myself in the reading.

I better call it a Christmas present or she'll hit me with the book!

That's happened to all of us at one time or another. Ebay can quickly go from shopping to sport.

Pricey for a book? If you learn a lot from it and bump up your skills, it'll be worth it. Onward!

What timetraveler said. You can drop $100 for one night in a bad hotel. It's just money. 8)

I paid 25 cents for a first edition "Forbidden Planet" in near mint condition intact dust cover and all.
I've seen less well preserved copies priced at over 2 grand.

Don't worry about it. I've done that a bunch of times with kits, getting involved in the bidding, then at the end, "Did I really pay this much for THIS kit?" Then again, I've also gotten some great deals on EBay, so it all evens out.

Yup Tom and RCreations... Live and Learn. Sometimes you score a great deal only to pay for it later by over paying on another.

Don't worry! You only paid close to $100. It is still a good deal. Look at this link, someone paid $205.50 for it.
May be you should consider to re-sell it on ebay again and make some money for the new year.

Yellowcat... you did make me feel better! :bgrin:

Now for the funny part... the person who sold that book lives in a town that is only 35 minutes from my house!

Having the book, I can tell you I have NOT been impressed. How much? well, I would have also sold it for ten bucks, but, that is water under the bridge. If you had asked me, and, once again, water under the bridge, but I would not pay for it, and take the hit on feedback.

The book is at best vague, and doesn't cover a lot of "how to". It does have high gloss paper, and purty pictures.......
