Wauw! Most impressive. I genuflect before you, Terry.

John Gurche says the following in "Shaping Humanity" (when describing his choices for the skin colouration of his reconstructions of our predecessors):-

"Adults of all three species of African ape have very dark facial skin. There are variations in this pattern: the juveniles of common chimpanzees are lighter-skinned than their darker parents, and bonobos of all ages often have lighter colouration around the mouth and eyes, in an otherwise very dark face. Gorillas faces are generally very dark throughout life."

....and thanks a lot Spike, I don't think I've ever had anyone genuflect before me up to now  ,but I think I should graciously accept :D  I hope you enjoy painting your own chimp when you get some free time to concentrate on it.

I was mesmerized by the fantastic sculpt and didn't think it could get any better but then you get to painting him and BAM, pure realism! A superb job all the way around.

Fantastic sculpt and extremely realistic paint scheme. In the close up photos he looks life like, especially the mouth and eyes....well done...

Amazing work, he looks truly lifelike!

I've got your Kong bust waiting here to be done, and I hope I can make it look half as good as his little cousin here.

Absolutely amazing work Terry. I still say your the best kept secret in the UK as far as sculptors go.There has not been one subject matter you have not been able to tackle and hit a home run with. This chimp is Rick Baker realistic. Awsome job. Hoping to see you do another Dragon again. Perhaps a land dragon with no wings? Love your Kong bust as well.

Cheers guys :D.....and thanks Ted for your continued support, I don't have any immediate plans for another dragon but I wouldn't rule out another one sometime in the future.

Terry, this is beautiful. The sculpture, the paint work. Just beautiful.
