New Wave Complex - PROXY & VIZAR *Updated pics*

#1 Post by Guts »

Hey Guys! Another piece for another original line: PROXY. She will be the first figure of New Wave Complex, a 75mm scale series influenced by old school anime, cyberpunk tropes, and the revival of 80's style synth!! I'll have more fluff, pics and info soon once we solidify the website and such. Thanks for looking!

*EDIT*
Been a while, but these 2 are finally up for order!

When you say 75mm, does that refer to the height of the piece, & if so am I correct in converting that this will be about 3" tall?

Being a fanatic of figures from 54 up to 120mm and have seen tons of new and old, even older figures of all kind, painted and sold them back and forth I can say, that you are a Master of this scale. When you get the Masters as perfect as the digital sculpt, the collectors of stuff like this will see the "Dawn of a new Day" in this stuff.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I guess that the US market is more concentrated on bigger scaled figures and the European (I mean mostly Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Begium, France and Germany) painters are more hooked on the scales you present so this will be a Blast. And original designs rules anyway!

She's beautiful too small for these old eyes, but beautiful work none the less. 8) 8) 8)

And the youth, mistook by me,
Pleading for a lover's fee.
Shall we their fond pageant see?

I'm under the same impression.. I image there will be a far larger market in Europe for these, though i could be wrong. I know a lot of war gaming guys that said they wanted to get more into the painting side here. One of the purposes of going with the 75mm was to sort of bridge the gap, though these are still leaning on the small side. Maybe we could do a super limited run of a larger scale depending on interest!

Very much appreciated :). A larger scale run may not be entirely out of the question either!

When I see my own actions as reference I can say that I only paint and do not game. For me, the "spectacular" figure is of interst, the more details, the more it hits my interests, the better. I know many hobbyists here in Germany who loves to paint fantastic figues, too. The 75mm scale has made a big step forward, not only thanks to PEGASO for offering lots of new historical stuff in this scale, but although Fantasy figures like a top notch Conan and a Thulsa Doom with dead on likenes to James Earl Jones. So here you are on the right track. We have several importers here in Germany, and I know some in Italy which serves as distributors for all the shops. So I would love to stay here and wait with dropping jaw for more news from you!

I am really loving these original sculpts you are doing now, keep 'em coming!

As far as the size, I have a couple of pieces from Andrea Depot (I think) which I haven't done anything
with, but I kind of like the size. I guess it would depend on price at the end.

I'm really the same way, the funnest part was always making the dioramas to put the figures on out of plaster and insulation and static grass :P. Indeed, there is so much great work in this scale, and it's a nice scale for start-ups to try and fill as well!

Thanks again Kirk! Andrea Depot has a ton cool pieces from different lines. Pricing will most likely be quite similar to other pieces in the scale, but we are aiming for certificates of authenticity and box art as well :)

Both characters look great Sheridan.
They look like they could have stepped right out of the pages of my old Cyberpunk 2020 roleplaying book.

love both too; def what ZB does best- saving your eyes at small scales. Details are off the hook and will be popular with Painters i'll warrant.

Yeah, thats life! Here everything is fine. The only heck is that this month my money is extremely down so I have to wait for the figure till May. I wish you will do that Cthulhuesque Bust/Monster whatsoever it is you have shown here in the future, too! And will come up with more fantasy stuff like our trophy wielding friend!

@Faust - Thanks dude, exactly what we are going for with these :D Just realized how late my reply is.. my apologies!
@Tim - Yezzir, no other way I'd be able to sculpt at this size.. I'd lose it trying to sculpt this small traditionally!
@Marcus - Thanks brother!!
@Frank - I need to reprint the Cthulhu, unfortunately the print just wasn't on par with Ownage, who we used for these guys and Hrungnir. I will post the next fantasy figure today, but it will be a while before we release her unless we sell a ton of figures!
