Blues went up 3 games to 2 Saturday against the Stars. They get to come home again for game 6. Hopefully they will get the job done and not have to return to Dallas for a game 7. They seem to play better on the road though but I would just as soon wrap it up at home and go on to the next round.

Well, the Pens brought their 'A' game last night.
I just wish they would quit going into turtle mode in the 3rd with a lead.
Makes the games way 2 close when they let in a couple cheap goals. Usually because they are letting Tampa bring the game to them instead of trying to drive play themselves.

Taking away goals in a sport that's trying to think up ways to increase them,
over this #*$&@! blue line review BS calls!!!!

This was NEVER the intent of the blue line rule!! Drives me crazy!!

Heck of a game last night. Heck of a series. The Pens didn't sit back in the third period last night. They kept attacking till the bitter end. They didn't give Tampa Bay any time or space what so ever. It's a good day to be a Penguins fan. Hopefully they've got 4 more wins left in them.

Hmmmm! What? Somebody's trying to lose the Stanley Cup yet? Well, well. Once the Blackhawks were dealt out, so was I.

P.S. ~ Take that NBC sports network...you manipulate schedules, blackout coverage, change channels for games more than people change their socks, and have quite a few bonifide idiots for analysts (I.E. - Milbury)...none of this is about the fans of the teams involved... You suck. :-D

I love having Sully for our coach. He's not one of those boring stone-faced guys.
This GIF from last night is just priceless.

If you want the backstory on it you can read this.

I totally agree on NBC sports network. I can NOT stand Doc Emerick or Pierre Mcguire. They are ruining hockey for me. It's like nails on a chalkboard listening to those two.
I've asked for a Doc Emerick VooDoo doll for Christmas the last few years, so everytime he says "There are 3 and three quarters of a minute left in the period." I can stab the VooDoo doll in the neck. That guy is sooooo annoying!

While I'm not wild about NBC sports network, I love the way Doc calls a game!

Have the Sharks finally forgotten they're the Sharks?!? Love that.

I know, right.
I was reading it in their voices too. Sounded like it could have been real.

Game 1 is in the books. Over all a good job by the Pens getting that first win. Played great in the first period...and then sat back in the second period. Then ramped it up again in the third for the win. It was a roller coaster ride of a game and I'm glad they won in regulation. Hopefully they can put together a complete 60 minute game tomorrow for Game2.

I love those old school home Jerseys! It was also very nice to see Pasqual Dupuis doing an interview before the game. I miss that guy!

It's been great seeing Duper at all the games.
He may not be able to play, but he is still hanging with the guys, and showing support.

If I remember right, those are going to be the regular jerseys next season. Instead of just the event jerseys they are now.
I think they are finally done with that gold crap they've been using.
It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't what I preferred.

As to the game itself, I think the 2nd period was a bit of SJ getting to their game and recovering a bit, coupled with the Pens being a bit disjointed.
For some reason I saw lots of Pens players falling down all night last night.

The Pens have had a problem holding a lead all playoffs.
They play amazing, get a lead, then look like crap and let the other team come back.

Great game last night! Pens D has been very impressive in this series especially. Even with out Trevor Daley, they are getting it done. One more...just one more!

It's a Great Day for Hockey! Penguins won the Stanley Cup. It has been a privilege to watch the Penguins this year. From December when they looked dead and buried, to now, they are standing on top of the mountain. Great job guys! Thank you Pittsburgh Penguins! It's a Great Day for Hockey!

It was great to finally wrap this series up.
Wish it would have been at home in game 5 as the place would have been insane.
But I have to give props to the SJ fans. As disappointing as it must have been to see their team lose, they still were big enough hockey fans to cheer for some of the Pens when they got their turn with the cup.
Especially noteworthy were the thunderous cheers for both Daley, and Dupuis.

And of course, the thunderous boos for Bettman.
