LED Lighting
Hi:
Thought I'd post this over here as well...
My son is currently working on the Moebius Green Lantern kit and he was interested in putting a small LED light in it to make the transparent plastic pieces brighten a bit more. I've never worked with LEDs but was hoping someone might have an easy fix or suggestion. Thanks.

Try modeltrainsoftware dot com. They have everything you'll need; LED's, wire, battery hook ups, switches, etc..

Re: LED Lighting
if you can use a soldering iron its pretty easy the hardest part is hiding the wires ect

Re: LED Lighting
yo will need a small led, resistor, battery pack, wire, heat shrink tubing
Re: LED Lighting
This is exactly what you need... no soldering... just put in place... position the switch and VIOLA... instant light inside your kit:

http://www.modeltrainsoftware.com/single-light-kit.html
Comes exactly as you see it here... all prewired, soldered, and includes a button cell battery! If you want a color other then the white they provide, just say so in the comments at the checkout and they will have no problems with changing the color at all!

Re: LED Lighting
I used a "fire" LED kit from modeltrainsoftware to light the punkin on my Hocus Pocus kit a couple of years ago. Works great!

Thanks for all the great advice...I have now discovered the true awesomeness that is modeltrainsoftware...didn't know it could get this easy when it comes to LEDs!

I know right... Evan Designs that started putting these together is a god send for all us modelers and I can't praise him enough! Everything arrives in nice neat little baggies that work as soon as you hook up the battery straight from the package. I have never had a problem with anything I've gotten from him and you don't know how many hours he's saved me from having to soldier and calculate amps/volts/ohms. He even showed that you can hook up close to 50 LEDs to a single 9v battery! Amazing!

I know I can't use superglue on LEDs...how about Testors Cement for Plastic Models?

Ummm...why can't you use superglue?sideshowtony wrote:I know I can't use superglue on LEDs...how about Testors Cement for Plastic Models?
I used superglue on a terminator kit that I built nearly 15 years ago to hold the eye in place, and it's still working fine...I'll admit I didn't know any better, but did I do something wrong?
