Some Dinosaurs from the 2016 Columbia IPMS Nats

#1 Post by kevtk135 »

Hey guys,

Just a got back from the Nats, and there were quite a few prehistoric animals on the tables this year. The tables were a little crowded so I couldn't get them all. But here is a taste.
(Yes, I know one of them isn't a dinosaur, but at the time of the image, it was placed in the category - and it has a pretty sweet paint job)

Quite welcome. I noticed a figure build and the Anatotitan (sp?) that belonged to our own Crazy Joe, so I'm betting a bunch of others were his too. ;) Maybe he'll check in.
It was the first time in my memory that the majority of the models were garage kits, vs. the old JP styrene kits.

You are correct, Kev, I had 5 entries in the Dinosaur category, and a pair of Shane's dinos in the Miscellaneous Diorama category. I INTENTIONALLY put the Jim's Hydrodon in the Dinosaur category KNOWING that the uptight IPMS judges wouldn't know a Trilobite from a pair of genitalia - nevertheless, all pieces were well received, and I did place first in both of these categories, as well as a first in Fantasy Figures, for the Sarah Kerrigan piece.

Thanks for posting these pics!!!
