So, how productive was 2016?

#1 Post by tay666 »

So, how many kits did everyone get done this year?

My year was only so-so.
I finished 5 kits.
As always, I was hoping to get more done, but life kept getting in the way.
Lots of 1:1 projects here around the house. Too much overtime at work leaving me with little energy to do much else during that time.

I resolve to finish more in 2017

Here is a quick look at my completed kits. (images link to pages for them)

2016 wasn't quite as productive as I would've liked, but I did get to turn two different Fewture grail kits into some pretty substantial dioramas and completed several other kits as well. Hoping to devote even more time to painting in the coming year and wishing everyone a happy and productive 2017!!

I managed to finish eight kits this year (No photos of Gillman's The Hound).

I should have been able to finish more since the work bench is full.

But I guess those kits will be the first for 2017.

Here are my 2016 completed projects.

3 years and no kit painted for lack of time and incentive for having financial problems... The last one I did was for a client... For myself, it's been 6 years almost....

BUT..... This year all changed. I have a great arsenal of quality kits now and started to paint my first one in years. Because I am a bit rusty, I thought The Hound bust by Jeff Yagher was a good start. I started to paint on the 1st and probably be finished by the end of the week.

Next, Nightmare David or Allan Poe caricature bust by Mark Newman.....

Can't wait to make at least 5 kits this year.....

Love these threads.
Seeing lots of cool stuff.
Some I haven't seen before. And the ones I have, another reminder about them never hurts.

Not bad here. Repaired a fullsize R2D2 prop, built a full size deadpool statue, a 1/4 scale zombie spiderman and beat my head against the wall on a full size harley quinn. Bought a whole bunch of kits. Coolest was a Bowen decapitator still in original box. hoping to get more done this year. Sorry no photos at moment.
Seeing a lot of great work from everyone else. You guys are awesome. look forward to more.
Don't panic. OK, you can panic a little.

Some awesome work being displayed here! Makes me jealous :D
2016 was my slump year, life changes and moving interstate next week... my mid life crisis!
Once I'm settled though, I'll be getting back into the fun.
Thanks for some inspiration
