Sun Wukong

I have some very exciting news! As of right now, our Shop Page is live! Our first piece for Pre-Order is 1:6th Scale NEOTYPE™ Kit-Sun Wukong. This is a beautiful Resin Kit digitally sculpted by Camilo "Chris" Aldana and Art Direction by Jason Rosa. This piece was made with the utmost respect for the King himself along with the new villainous foe. Both characters are displayed in remarkable detail. Photos that are used on the Shop Page (and video) are digital renders of what the final piece design will be. Small adjustments may have to be made during manufacturing but rest assured, we are not changing major details! We are working with the best of the best, getting this produced by today's highest standards. Kong comes with 2 Headsculpts to chose from or swap out at your leisure, with a finish that suits your needs. The water will be translucent cast for that see-through effect. This piece has an estimated size of over 17.8” (which is 45 cm)! This will surely be a centerpiece in your display for all you Kaiju or Monster Film Collectors! Quantities are extremely limited, given this is a NEOTYPE™ Resin Kit, so Pre-Order yours now! It can be purchased via two payment plans. We hope you are as happy with it as we were in bringing it to you. – All of us at Maven Collectibles, we thank you!

Thank you Anthony for the feedback on the site navigation and the well wishes. I have updated it to make it a little easier.

Hey, to those who saw the price and wonder why. It's two full size characters and the base has translucent water. The total weight is estimated to be between 15 to 35 pounds of resin. Also, there are two payment options available. Thanks for checking us out.

I am so excited to build this up! It is my honor to help promote this magnificent piece, and I will be posting step by step videos on youtube which I will add to my Kongfrontations playlist. I am a big collector of Kong as it is, but this will be my first and so far, only Skull Island Kong. I will post photos here on the Clubhouse once I am finished with mine, and hopefully I can do it justice so that many modelers here will want to get their own!
ALL YOUR KAIJU MODEL KITS ARE BELONG TO US!!
Thanks, Jon LeGrand

What a beautiful and dynamic kit. Would love to own it. Unfortunately, it is out of my price range. I need a better job I guess if I want better model kits and this Kong definitely qualifies as a better kit.

Thank you torpted. We did try to keep the cost as low as we could but for the amount of resin this going to have plus the sculpting, molding and casting cost we had to go with this price point. We will be having other pieces coming in the future.

So is this solid resin rather than hollow-cast?

Did you consider making it hollow-cast to reduce the weight & cost?

(* I know you'll have good reasons, I was just curious what drives decisions one-way-or-the-other *)

Structure and engineering had a lot to do with it. Balancing the skull crawler meant weight. We looked at hollow casting but we would have compromised the design to a lesser effect. There are other reasons that I could go into but that was the main one. Thanks for the question.

I love the look of this kit. The price though makes it very difficult to get. You mention this is a digital sculpt. Will this be produced by traditional resin molding and casting or will it be digitally printed. My understanding of the digital printing process is that you can adjust the size of the pieces to create any scale. I could be wrong about this but I messaged a seller (beasttoysco1) on ebay who was selling a Kong vs skull crawler kit. He did not mention scale. His message to me was that he was selling a digital download of the plans for this kit. If you had a digital printer you could print it at any scale.

The ebay auction number is 253014931047 if you want to check it. It has ended already.

Just wondering if this option was considered. A smaller scale option might mean a larger market and more sales.

Dinofan62 -

This is digitally sculpted for starters. The sculpt was created to be in 1/6th scale. However given the height it will be a larger piece, closer to quarter scale height-exceeding 45 cm. We have no desire to bring this to a bigger market. All pieces under the Neotype™ kit line are low number pieces with no second chance on the cast. What we may do is make this an even lower the edition size to get this to true fans. We are not looking to do 500 to 1000 piece runs like other companies. Our focus is making select and very rare pieces for die-hard collectors. This doesn't mean we do not have the normal consumer in mind. We do plan to have options for more affordable pieces/smaller pieces under a different line. Thank you for your comment.

A flyer for G-FEST went out on Instagram. So for starters YES IT'S TRUE! Let us start by saying, all those who paid (either full or half) are getting e-mails now along with reimbursement for their sales tax. You will get a code running for the same flyer but special to your made order. That is our way to thank you.

Firstly, two big announcements with that flyer. 1.) We cut the edition size in HALF! From 100 to 50, so why??! We are a fan based company and we wanted this run to be Extremely Limited. We've been getting fluctuations in the orders and we want true Kong/G-fans to own this. We don't have full control of our sales so anyone can benefit from this (as it should). Yet we know there are those that take advantage of the hobby's aftermarket, so we are making this a tighter gripped sale. That way, those who focused their attention on the other comic con events but skipped this, probably weren't true fans of this property to big with. 2.) Lastly, the percentage is 7% off which is over $50 off the main price!! That is huge, means you save more! That's another benefit for us with cutting the edition size to a very low run.

So for those attending G-Fest (This Fri-Sun), check out our bud Jon LeGrand. He is bringing over 20 models to G-Fest this year, our flyer, and is also an avid King Kong fan! Second, Kong: Skull Island is viewing at G-Fest this year! So kick back and enjoy the film if you haven't already. When all the smoke has cleared, give us a look and weight down your shelf with this amazing work of art! The flyer will run extended from this Fri-next Sun (23rd) only! So act fast, we got some spots open still and we want all the fans who've been waiting for something special for Kong to benefit! Big thank you to all our fans and supporters on this and our work! We have some amazing stuff coming just you wait! Maven Collectibles
