Photobucket - Bye Bye

#1 Post by tellmyre »

Photobucket used to be pretty cool but it has gotten more and more clunky. It is getting almost impossible to navigate with all the ads and banners. Now they won't permit sharing photos on 3rd party sites such as here without a fee. Nice!

Messed up some sales I had going. Corrected those for now. I think it is time to jump ship over to Flikr.

It's going to get worse, as of next year, all paying Photobucket accounts will be forced to Upgrade to a P500 account which is $399.00 a year in order to allow 3rd Party Hosting.

I don't mind paying for a service, but I'm not paying no $399.00, especially given the (as you say) clunky service.

I've already started the move over to Flickr, moved the Outpost Creations account over to Flickr, and will be moving the Garage Kits.US account over after Jerseyfest.

That is what they are trying to make me do know is to go to the P500 account. Needless to say I will not be obliging them. Flickr looks like the ticket.

Yeah, it's ridiculous.
Especially when you can get yourself an entire website of your own for 1/3 of that price.

Anyone know how to post pictures from Flickr directly to sites such as Clubhouse as opposed to sharing a link?

Go to the picture you want to share, click the arrow button, click on BBCode, copy code to post.
