The terrible news still doesn't seem real.

Wow, I don't know, but does look familiar. I have seen several of his build ups show up since the auction either in collections or up for sale like this.jayco35 wrote:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jayco-Hobbies-C ... 1438.l2649
I'm not positive but is this Johns bup ?
John loved that kit and was really proud of his buildup (he won a MERIT at Wonderfest 2012 for it).jayco35 wrote:I knew it looked familiar . I remember when he had entered kit at show. Tom Savini was there and has asked me about it. Thats alot of money hes asking as compared to what was paid. Talk about markup.
Thanks for sharing this, I agree wholeheartedly with every word you said. I really miss him a lot. I was able to get 5 of his kits, and each one I build I will dedicate to John.Heavy Metal Spike wrote:.
It’s now a year since we lost our dear friend & brother.
I can honestly say that during that year, not a single day has gone by where I haven’t thought of him.
I’m on the Clubhouse every day, and because of John’s prolific activity here, I am always bumping into posts he made.
Also, when his estate auctions took place back in June, I made a point of buying many of his unbuilt kits, buildups, magazines, T-shirts & banners, and I tracked down several of his Wonderfest awards. These surround me in my office, and are placed so that I see some of them no matter what direction I am facing.
He was a DAMN good friend to many of us . . . always cheerful, always keen to help. And even though he carried out a challenging role as a moderator here, I VERY rarely saw people taking issue with John. Those that WERE rude or disrespectful were always the regular troublecausers / trolls.
Fact is – John was pretty-much universally loved, admired and respected.
He’s left quite a legacy in this community, and in our hearts.
We’re still missing you John . . . we’re still very glad we knew you . . . and we're appreciative for the friendships we’ll always cherish.
