We are hanging in there. I am one of the lucky ones so far. It is not over yet. Got a good scare at 4 in the morning with water lapping at our door. Fortunately it receded for now. Keep everyone adversely affected by this in Texas in your prayers. Texas took quite a blow. It is heartwarming to see neighbors and strangers jumping in to help others in need. There is only some much resource available from the municipalities and government. I will leave this oldie with everyone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVbMnNO0Cas

Glad to hear your safely riding the storm out! I'm watching the 5:30 news here in Nash and this is just unbelievable! My concern is those two dams trying to get relief. The same thing happen here in 2010 when the Corp of Engineers opened two dams and flooded Nashville! One of the dams (Old Hickory) is 60 years old and last year they opened a quarry right next to it and have been blasting away ever since. They need the stone for all the building going on as we're now the "it" city. The irony is if that dam gives the Historic Nashville flood will look like a puddle!
Let us now how your doing.

I am still dry with power. One of the few that are so far blessed. So many others did not fair near as well. Please keep Texas in your prayers as this storm has created widespread damage from Corpus Christi all the way to the Louisiana border. And now it looks like Louisiana may get a beating, time will tell there.

Anybody heard from Filmy yet? He is from the Houston area. Haven't seen anything on either his Filmys Girls page or Space City FB pages in a while. Hoping he weathered the storm okay.

Sounds like Marc was on the same "amusement ride" I was on. And I certainly never want to get on that ride again.

Good to know you guys are ok! Yeah we caught some serious storms and had some major flooding in areas and lots of tornadic stuff but thankfully no touchdowns. Lots of trees down and power outages but we're good as well. Blue skies today. 8)

Seems like Harvey lingering over Texas for so long spared West Tennessee and other areas in its path from suffering the full fury of the storm.

We had some much needed rain here in east Tennessee but nothing that threatened damage.

When I was a youngster out town got over 4 feet of water on main street but our house was on high ground. The street in front of the house was like a river but the neighborhood never flooded.

They rebuilt the Civil War era storm drainage system and since then little or no flooding but on occasion the water pressure in the drains has blown manhole covers into the air with impressive geysers.
