Question guys....
Can you do non acrylic ( enamel washes) over Acrylic paint, if I seal the acrylic basecoat with Dull coat or a Semi gloss sealer. or will the enamel wash eat through the dull coat sealer and damage the acrylic paint underneath.
anyone have this problem
thanks in advance.

Re: washes over Acrylic
I prefer oil or enamel washes right over my acrylic base coat. I generally let the acrylic cure at least 48 hours. Keep in mind it will tend to act as a stain on the base coat.
A lacquer clear coat (Dullcoat or others) will act as a barrier to the staining effect. Make sure the clear coat is fully cured and only use mineral spirits (NO lacquer thinner) for thinning your washes.
Your best bet is to experiment on a model that you can strip later.

Re: washes over Acrylic
I do washes right over. The only time I add a sealer coat is when I don't really know what I want to do while I'm doing it. So if I flub it I can get it off w/o ruining the underneath color.
But to be honest I'm really enjoying the Citadel washes (as overly expensive as they are).
