Zombieland : Double Tap

#1 Post by tay666 »

The sequel to one of the best movies ever is coming this fall.
The first trailer dropped yesterday
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlW9yhUKlkQ

I've been waiting for this for a long time.
The original cast is back. Same writers and same director.
Set 10 years after the first one (which came out 10 years ago)

All the pieces are there, the trailer looks like it has the right tone.
I am so hoping this lives up to what I want it to be.

I really liked Zombieland so I'm looking forward to seeing this, but after 10 years I'm not expecting much. Also, the only other movie I've seen that was directed by Ruben Fleischer was Gangster Squad (2013) which I really didn't care for, so the first movie might have been a fluke. I hope I'm wrong, but...we'll see.
The older I get, the better it was.

I finally got to see it!

It was great!
No, it wasn't 'amazing' or 'groundbreaking' but it was fun. :)

IF you are a fan of the first one, you will enjoy this. If it weren't for everyone being 10 years older, it is just like they shot it right after the first one. Same feel, same humor.
They didn't try to improve on perfection, or change things up. They just did a straight up sequel with the exact same tone, effects, and approach.

Just what I was hoping for.
There were even a few laugh out loud moments, where everyone in the theater was laughing.

Caught this on Starz last night. Not really a zombie fan, so wasn't that
impressed w/ the 1st one. A few chuckles, but overall meh.
(didn't help that I think Murray is a hack actor as well).

But it was at least better than this 2nd one! Double meh! :)

(realize I'm in the minority by the above comments though...so that's ok)

You not liking it actually makes sense.
As my review said.

Since you weren't really a fan of the first one, the sequel wasn't going to win you over.
It's more of the same, only amped up a bit.
