I read the star was asked to watch the trilogy and that they wanted his character to be similar to Eastwood's. I also thought it was interesting that, even though Eastwood's character is known as the man with no name, his name is said to be Manco in "For a Few Dollars More", and they were calling the Mandalorian "Mando" in the 3rd episode.

Still fun but I'm not digging their "That's that,I guess?" slogan (or whatever it is). Definitely didn't need to say it so much. But I'm just nitpicking.

I believe that is Yoda (or one of his kind) as a youngster.

re episode 4: my son walked in and said he was expecting Usagi Yojimbo to
walk in at one point!

7 Samurai or Magnificent 7 anyone?! lol

He says, "If I see 2 warring gangs and he plays one against the other, I'm
not gonna watch anymore!" He left me in tears cuz I was thinking, '...should
I tell him not to watch 'For a Few Dollars More'?'

S01E04 - "Sanctuary"

Same as Buc - we'd re-titled this one "The Magnificent 2" (AKA "The M-Team"?)

All the same (no pun intended) - really enjoyed it - and Gina Carano (no relation to the similarly-named Thunderbirds puppet) is AWESOME!

It's getting better with each episode.

PS: That heat vision seemed a little familiar as well

The last episode showed how the ATST should be treated, as a very scary and dangerous threat.

S01E05 - "The Gunslinger"

Everyone agreed this was the weakest episode so far. I won't be upset if Dave Filoni's name is never seen in the credits again - as writer OR director (he directed the 1st episode too).

Loved the connections to the original "Star Wars" though (OK . . . OK . . . "A New Hope").

I read somewhere that this was now being described as a "Western in Space" (not really a surprise) - with each episode loosely connected by the main characters.

Amy Sedaris really seemed out of place in this one. And really didn't like the what's his hole, the sidekick guy. Would of done better with some better actors, maybe even make them aliens.

Ok, who else is already planning that? :D

Cracking episode! Biker scouts! White Speeder bikes! Stormtrooper transport! Deathtroopers! This series is more Star Wars than any of the non-original trilogy..... (Rouge One not withstanding...)

For me, Season 1 was a combination of awesome and decidedly "meh" - with the "meh" leaving me apathetic about commenting on individual episodes after S01E05.

Don't get me wrong, it was tons better than anything "Star Wars" after the original trilogy (excepting Rogue One & Solo), but I'd still only give the season 6/10 overall.

However - the trailer for Season 2 has just been released - and resulted in smiles, chills and increased anticipation :hot: :hot: :hot:

Plus ANYTHING with Gina Carano in it is a must watch for me these days . . . for Lemmy's sake - the woman ALMOST made me join twitter - wonderful, smart & HONEST human-being - all the more amazing given the people she has to share her career and life with (you go girl!)

Season 2 will debut on Disney+ on Friday 30th October 2020. Once again, only 8 episodes.
