Man, I forgot how long it takes to drybrush.
I figured I'd get down to the bench, drybrush a few things paint a few details and get a few other things done.
Instead I spent over an hour just drybrushing these 6 bases.
Image

Of course, while I had the gunmetal out, I also did the armor on this one
Image
Still a long way to go on this one, and lots of details to pick out.

And while I had the silver out I did the belt buckle on this one
Image
Which I am glad I got some shots of, because now I can see several areas that need touched up. One of the drawbacks of these little kits, hard to see some things without blowing them up in photos.

Never did get to this one.
Image
Was hoping to get the red and yellow on the shirt done tonight. Guess that will have to be tomorrow. (which works, as I will be using the same red that I need to touch up the santa-alien)

Yeah. I'm not really complaining.
It's just amazing how fast the time flies by, when you are sitting at the bench just brushing away.

Hey.
As if I don't have enough going on
(both on the bench, and with everything else :D )

I decided to do something stupid

Image

I bought this kit this week with the hairbrained idea that I have a long weekend ahead of me, I should be able to start and finish this thing before I go back to work

Guess we will see.

I'll be posting more pics tonight.(early tomorrow morning)
I've got main sub-assemblies done, and primer on a bunch of it at this point.
Will be heading down to the dungeon shortly to do some more work.

Sometimes it's nice to build one just to build it and not be too picky about it. Less stress!

Things are progressing, though I kinda wish I was a bit further than I am.
Assembly is about 80% I think.
Primer/base coating is roughly 25%. If I can get that to 80% by the end of tomorrow I think I can still have it done before I go back to work.
I know what colors I am going with so that should save some time.

I didn't post last night because I didn't wrap up until 4:30 this morning and I didn't feel like dealing with pics.

Image
This might look like crap right now, but it is actually coming along very nicely.
The lid has the second coat which was gray while the casket itself just has the first coat of brown on it. Getting ready to do the gray on it.
Trust me, it will all come together (I know because I already did the next layer this afternoon, just haven't done pics yet)

Image

I ended up with everything basecoated by the time I wrapped. So I was happy.
I have intentionally omitted pics of the actual base. Going to wait on that for the big reveal.

Image

Last thing I did was get the executioner masked off, then I shot all the bare skin areas with flesh.

And no, I will not be done tonight. But I didn't say I would. I said before I go back to work. I have a vacation day already scheduled for Tuesday, so I had a 4 day weekend to try and crank this out. And I may actually succeed.

Told you all those nasty looking layers would come together

Image

Getting closer

Image

And
I did it!
4 days from start to finish

Image

It will probably take me until this weekend to get the real finished photos done.
But this one shows that I do have it done.
Also going to try to get video of the 'zap-action'. Because this is fully functional.
And I took full advantage of the glow plastic, so going to try to get some glow pics as well.

And now for the really hard part
Image
Cleaning up my work area so I might be able to work on something else. :D
I'd hate to think what this would look like if I hadn't put some stuff back as I worked.

So true.
Applicable to home projects and car repairs as well.
Cleaning up and putting everything away is so anticlimactic tiresome.

Actually made a little time to hit the bench this past weekend.
No huge amount of progress, but got some of my projects moving a bit closer to completion.

Pics in this thread viewtopic.php?f=28&t=123544

Today I finally got around to cleaning up my workbench (so I could take the pics)
Finally cleaned out my mixing pallets so they are ready to use (hopefully later this week)

And here are some pics of things still in progress

I really need to buckle down and get going on those Dark Shadows kits. It's been over a year and a half since my friend asked me to do them for him.

My little Tiny Terrors Godzilla is starting to get close.
Did a little work on the teeth and claws tonight

Image

I think he is ready for a sealer coat tomorrow.
A few more details then I think I will be ready to tackle the eyes.
