Buckcherry.

Not sure how I feel about that.
I used to cringe when I saw them on a bill, but the last time I saw them they were actually good.
But that was also a little over 10 years ago.

I saw Buckcherry earlier this year - show was good since it was in a small venue but I think their best days are behind them. The opening act who I never heard of were actually better.

Hope they aren't worse than when I saw them in 08 and 09. 2011 is the only time I enjoyed their show.
They are only the openers, so they shouldn't have too long a set.

Turns out to be a moot subject.
I didn't get tickets.

The venue has a new ticket ordering system, and for some reason it kept erroring on my during the presale. Also during the regular sale. I gave up after I saw all the good seats were gone.
Not interested in paying $90 if I can't have front row balcony, or one of the aisle seats within a couple rows of the front.

I'd be logged in, select my seat, hit the button to order, and it would ask me to log in again. When I would, I would get an error saying incorrect data.

It never seems to fail - you can never log on when there are good seats available - It always happens to me. Alice's show is much better if you can get close up seats.

Oh, I've seen Alice up close, far back, and all the way back.
These days, I prefer something back where I can take in the whole stage all at once.

Last time, was from here

If I would have gotten the balcony seat I wanted, it would have been a view like this

But yeah, I've been this close before

This would have been my 7th time seeing him.

I'm going to see Nita Strauss this Thursday - she is at a small venue about 2 miles from my house.

Nita turned out to be a pretty good show. I'm glad I went to see her. I wasn't sure how I would like an all instumental show.
She had a full band: 2 guitars, bass, drums and keyboards. They did one Cooper song - Feed My Frankenstein. The girl singer from the support band came up and sang during it.
Nita can definately shred a guitar and not bad to look at either!

They just announced a show near me, that I hope to get tickets for.
Halestorm, Pretty Reckless, The Warning, and Lilith Czar
First I have to wait for them to go on sale to see what the price is, what seats are available, and if the venue is going to issue any actual tickets this year. Last year was mobile only tickets, so, even if I wanted to go to a show, I couldn't.

Sound like that could be fun!

You could always go with your kids - surely they have cellphones?

. . . and you have to appreciate the irony that the ONE person who knows more about our platform, supports it, changes it, keeps it up-and-running, and is quite possibly the most technologically-adept person we have EVER had as a member . . . does NOT want to own a cellphone

Just got tix for the Halestorm show here in NJ.
Not thrilled that they're doing ANOTHER double
billed show, but at least they are the "headliner".
14 songs is better than 11, but I would RATHER
they do 20, like a "traditional" set list is.
One caveat is that the venue is less than
10 minutes from my house.

(and I too, do NOT like the "phone" tix - LoL)

I was so spoiled the only time I saw Halestorm.
24 songs, they were their own opening act.

That said, I would take the trade of only half the songs if I get to see Pretty Reckless and The Warning on that bill.
But sadly, my local venue (Blossom Music Center) still has it's box office closed, and is only doing mobile tickets. So, I'll have to pass on this show.

If it were another local venue, I might make the effort to find someone to go with who could do the mobile tickets. But things really have to line up perfectly to get me to go to Blossom anymore.
The venue itself is beautiful, with comfortable seating and good sound in the pavilion. But getting there, and getting into the parking lot is major frustration. Only one road to the venue, off a major commuter highway during rush hour. If you aren't there really early, you are looking at an hour to get parked. And if you do get there that early you are hiking about a mile across the field they park you in. Or you can pay $30 for reserved parking. Then it's another hour or two to get out after the show.
And for me, it's another hour and a half home after getting out.

Only reason I even considered it is because the amazing bill.

I do hope you have a great time at the show Matt.

Next show should be Exodus Testament and Death Angel on the 24th. I should have gone back in may to a smaller closer venue but I was crunching to get molds finished for ed's new Masked Rider kit that he sold out of within an hour of opening at wonderfest. I haven't seen Death Angel since the Frolic Through the Park tour. I got to see Exodus and Testamnt back in 19.

Saw Megadeth and 5FDP last night. I was shocked that Megadeth was opening but it was explained during the show by Dave quite well. I had no idea he was doing so badly.

Saw Slipknot and Cypress Hill back in May. That was the loudest show I can recall and I have seen Manowar and Motorhead in the same night competing to see who could be louder. Motorhead won that night.

Saw Primus 2 nights after Slipknot in may. That was an interesting show.

Managed to see Alice inChains about a month ago and they were better than 3 years ago...

2 weeks later I saw Korn and Evanescence. Never expected those two to play together.

Wasp and Mercyful Fate coming up in November. I was kicking myself for missing King diamond last november and then Overkill back in March.

Any October shows are a wash as I am working the haunt as usual since 1984

Only the Primus show had an actual ticket. All the rest were on the phone which would be useless to me as I only have a flip phone. I don't like when they insist on cashless everything at the shows either. Makes getting the tour shirts more important but also more difficult.

Sounds like you have been having a good time.
I am completely with you on the ticketless crap. And what is this about cashless merch?
[shakes head]
I remember when you could only use cash.
Man I am getting old.

Been a while with a post here.
This Friday July 28: Bret Michaels, Night Ranger and Jefferson Starship.
Should be a fun laid back show. We got cheap lawn seats and weather supposed to be nice too!

Cool!
I like the idea of seeing a good show, but I just don't feel like dealing with all the hassle that brings with it.
Call me old, but I just don't feel like dealing with the driving, and the parking, the security screening. and the just not sitting at home being comfortable.
At this current point of my life it's gotta be something close, and something I really want to see.

Going to see Gwar with Mudvayne, Butcher Babies and others this friday then Sunday to see Overkill.

I don't appreciate that I had to pay an extra few bucks for an actual ticket as I will never own a smartphone.
