Hello everyone! following my introduction mex let me bother you with some pics of my work too

These are mostly from last year and half, as you will see I have a particular love for busts (mainly 1:9/1:10) but in general I enjoy everything that gives me joy in painting it! Likewise in regards to subjects, you'll find fantasy, historical, sci-fi and so on and so forth

Thanks again for your welcome, really happy to join this forum and absolutely mesmerized by the passion and the quantity of beautiful works I'm seeing around in the boards discussions!

I'm (almost) speechless. That has to be some of the best paint-slinging we've seen round these parts in quite a while.

AMAZING work!

I love all of them - every one is perfection - but as is my wont, it's the beastie that particularly drew me in . . . is that lighting or did you get the colours set up in such a way to make it "glow"? (and what the heck is the character from and where can it be bought?)

thanks for your message, that's really appreciated!

the character is the Garmr bust by Journeyman miniatures (should still be available on their website I guess). Size wise is comparable to a 1:9/1:10 bust.

The glow effect actually is just given by contrast and blending. The high contrast is reinforced by the fact that while most of the bust was painted over a black primer, the parts with the "glow" have a satin white primer as base so that they pop up naturally against the rest of the busy. In other words.. there's no adjustment in the picture values nor post-modification . If that helps I always take pictures in a black box without any other source of light than the natural one in the room and making sure that light doesn't hit directly the subject. Personally I like this way because I don't run crazy having artificial lights reflections and clearly it helps a lot reading colours contrasts as that is one of the things that I use the most in my paintings. Only downside is that you need long time exposure (with ISO 100 I usually go around 10-15 sec) to avoid pictures being underexposed and it doesn't work when outside is rainy

Adding couple angles of that one, maybe it's better than hundreds explanations
