Tonight, I am going to push my luck even further.
Going to try a very thin wash/glaze of a darkish brown over the whole iris to bring things together a bit more, and give them some depth.

Also have a few more things to do on the base. The photos show me I am still not where I want to be.
Now that looks good Trev! All that's left is to "drop the black dot" into the center of each eyeball ... steady that hand now .... carefully now ... take it slow ...

Almost there. I just need to make the right pupil a touch bigger to even them out.

And to give you some idea of the size of these eyes, I balanced a ruler on his face.
Looks like the iris's are about 5mm

The side project I have been using to keep myself sane while working on Kong is also coming along.
Some clean up to do, then figure out how I want to do the eyes.

(yeah, more eyes)

Kong is done!

I say 'again' because as I was going through the pics, I noticed some of the paint rubbed off his abdomen (you can see the brown patch in the first photo) So I had to go touch that up again real quick.
Now I have to shoot new photos tomorrow.
(kinda glad I did put everything away yet)

Also started on Godzilla's eyes.
His left eye still needs some work.

Two weeks later and I finally got back to the bench to fix that eye and finish a couple other things.
Ready to call this Godzilla bust done!
(after I clear coat it)

Thanks. Not as wispy as I wanted it, but not bad for my first attempt at teasing out cotton.
Also, I was impatient and used super glue thin, instead of watered down PVA.

On a related note, I really need to wear gloves when playing with super glue thin.

You better put him in the smoking section of showroom..

I'm guessing that would be the section with the nude/artsy figures (sponsored by Jim Carrey)?

Almost done with this one

Also got all the brushes and pallets I've been using all deep cleaned.

Hopefully tomorrow I will get them all put away along with all the paint I still have out.

That is why I put a dishwasher in the kitchen when we did it.
We both load, though she does more of that. I empty it when it's done.
And she doesn't touch my cast iron skillets. I do all the cleaning on those because somehow she always manages to ruin the seasoning.

Oh yeah, got the final dulcote done last night.
Tonight is glossing the eyes (and maybe mouth)

Today I also got all the brushes and paint put away and the main bench is cleaned up and washed down.

Tomorrow I plan on cleaning off the spray table. It's also a bit of a mess.
Then, hopefully shooting some finished shots of both Critters and Godzilla.

Trev - I see a notification that you quoted my post about the new look of the CH, but when I clicked on it I got "You are not authorized to read this forum". Is that because the post was deleted (if so, mea culpa for posting it off-topic in this thread), or was it moved into a moderator's forum that I can't see? Thanks for the clarification. :D

That's odd. You should be able to read and post in this topic

I moved several posts into the thread about the board upgrade as they fit better there.

I just checked Trev - I think you posted the last post in that thread from the "Admin's Lounge" (which would explain it).
