Aurora 1964? Superman

I had pulled out an original Aurora Superman kit to finally build. I noticed that on the side of the box the copyright was 1963 but on the bottom of the base was 1964. Does anyone know if this was because Aurora got the copyright in 1963 but the kit wasn't produced until 1964?

Probably, the boxes were printed in 63 but the mold wasn't finished until 64
