I agree and I just ordered 2 more different larger size 3d printed Zilla heads to possibly replace the current head.
But I have to be careful , because if I go too large with the head , it will make the overall size look much smaller in scale.
I.e. instead of appearing “whale sized”, if I replace the head with one that is too large, then the critter will be reduced to “shark sized”.
I want to maintain the original leviathan size scale feel to this creature.
Interesting ... now what initially looked like odd proportions are starting to make more sense ... :smokin: :thumb:

I was surprised no one commented that the position and angle of the arms looked a bit strange ?

Maybe you all correctly guessed that this was because I planned to pose this bash in a breaching position ?

The base is a turntable which I will fill with tinted resin.
This Will be my first time trying to create sea waves , so this should be interesting ….

Well, that explains a lot. I will be watching with interest as this is something I need to learn how to do in the event I try my hand at making "water" some time in the future....

I found these 3d printed cliff walls and rocks that I think are going to work perfectly . Not glued in, just placed in to start seeing how best to arrange them .
Please pay no attention to the rough paint job; this paint will not be visible through the future tinted resin water

Whoa Joe! What kind of paint are you using? That already looks (almost) like real water!!!   Rocks will "hit it out of the park" once you pour the resin water ...

Yeah, I was gonna say, that water is looking good!
At least if you were going with something stylized.
If not then it makes a great base to put the resin water on top of.

I found this cool 3d printed watchtower on Etsy.
I just placed it in the base to check the scale .
It is going to sit higher and behind all the rock walls in the final build .

.

Wow - that angle (revised from the original) is REALLY adventurous

Like the idea of "the watchtower" - it will make the scale of the beastie that much more obvious - but then you knew that "all along" :)

Best of luck with this Joe!

Thanks Ian!

I have ordered 2 more of the same watchtower in 2 different larger sizes so I can see which one of the 3 scales best with the creature.

Yeah, this bash is a bit ambitious!
I expect this to be quite a learning process with the planned and required big wave water effects.
I am pretty sure I am going to find out just how hard it is to dig out and redo woodland scenic water……

I think this new larger tower is going to work better than the first small one.
The Hydrodon, Tower and rocks are just loosely placed on the base for scale check.
This Tower is a 3d print and the detail on it is really fantastic.
