Repositioned the Minotaurs on the base; moved the 4 legged Minotaur a bit more towards the center versus hanging in the edge.
Roughed in some details on the legs of the 4 legged Minotaur.
Still have lots of shaping, refining and detailing to do on the hoofs, legs and arms.

Threw on some primer just to see it all tied together

The 2 legged Minotaur is about ready for paint .
I may add some back spikes to him?

Lots of refining and detailing to do on the 4 legged one.

Not always - sometimes he's just plain awful!

JUST a suggestion Joe - especially because it would take a ton of work, but the stance of the 2-legged fella is quite upright . . . it's almost like one of his feet should be placed a lot further back so he is "leaning into" the other guy.

I ordinarily wouldn't even suggest this, but (lets face it) you one of the few guys here that could deliver on that (assuming you even thought it was necessary).

It's all coming along nicely though!

Thanks Ian - great suggestion!
The trick will be making the changed stance fit within the confines of the small upper platform.
But I agree that will look much better and I will see if I can make it happen.

Oh heck - yeah - sorry - didn't think about that. You'd have to adjust the platform too #-o

I looked at changing one of the legs to be a bit more forward or back, but it’s not going to work for multiple reasons.
Main one is the size of top platform is very restrictive, plus changes would ripple through both Minotaurs in positioning .

Started adding spikes to back of 2 legged Minotaur for more visual interest.
Working on adding more details to 4 legged Minotaur, adding large joints, reworking front torso where it joins body., beefing up thighs.

Just catching up on this Joe. Wow, you don't waste time do you?

This project is really audacious. Fantastic. There are some impressive sculpting skills on show and I especially like it because it has a bit of an updated Harryhausen vibe to it.

It's great to watch a master really hit their stride...

Thanks ! Yes, definitely trying for the Harryhausen vibe with these Minotaurs.

I think I figured out how to work Ian’s great suggestion of having the 2 legged M pose to be more aggressively stepping into the 4 legged M.
I turned the 2 legged M and moved him forward with left leg/hoof down one step. Then Had to beef up the right hoof a bit for balance.

However this requires moving the 4 legged M, and now he will have to have one hoof in the fountain basin.
So I will have to learn how to do water splash effect with this build…
And figure out how I can take him on and off the base even though one foot will be in the water with a big splash around it.

I do like how the Minotaurs are now more centered on the base versus jammed into one end.
(Thanks Ian!)

Also working on detailing the 4 legged M.
Beefed up joints, beefed up back haunches, adding some fur detailing , reworked abs.
Still have to refine and detail the upper body, arms, and hands.
Cut off the tail to prepare for making it longer and more dynamic.

This will be last build update for a while as me and my missus are heading out in a 2 week road trip, going to a couple FLA ren fairs.
I will still check into the clubhouse but will not be able to make any build progress.

One option would be to have a separate clear sculpt for the water splash that is NOT permanently attached. When assembling, base down first, then place water splash, then place hoof. See the pic below for where I saw this done before.

Nice progress again (you're a brave man but now I feel guilty).

Enjoy the trip (and be safe!)

Spike beat me to it and explained it better than I could re: water splash. I second his idea.

Yes, moving the legs on BOTH critters slightly has made the scene much more dynamic from multiple angles - good decision to put in the extra work!!!

Thanks for the helpful suggestion and reference pic!

Don’t feel guilty - your ideas are making it a better bash!

No worries about the extra work.😎
I just think about all the work and time that Trekriffic puts into his builds, and then I realize these changes are relatively easy.

This looks so much more dynamic now.

If you are going to BARF make sure you check out Johnny Phoenix. Great guy, and has a fun show.
If you are going to FLARF then you have to check out Broon if you enjoy intelligent humor. The Kamikaze Fireflies put on a great show, and Moonie is hilarious even though he never says a word.
