Computer isues

#1 Post by tay666 »

My computer sort of died today so I am on my tablet.
Which isn't really the same. So I am going to be kind o scarce until my new part comes in on Saturday.

I'm back up and running now. Strangest 'problem' I have ever had with a computer.
A bracket to hold my heat-sink broke on the motherboard.
The two ends were still screwed into place, but the middle was laying in the bottom of the case. :shrug

Got a replacement ordered Thursday night, and paid for expedited shipping, so $20 for like a $5 part, but what are ya gonna do?
Got here today, and it was the wrong size, so I modified it to work. Now, I am just playing catch up with email, messages, and other stuff.

On the bright side, with no computer, I got a bunch of stuff done. Finished the shelves in my new shed. Got more Halloween decorations done.
And finally finished the shop sink, and the counter to go next to it down the basement.

So, now I can wash kits and such down there instead of having to haul them all upstairs and do it in the kitchen.

"Beep beep beep, oh no heavy, the coins keep coming out, beep beep beep, even the telephone hates me, beep beep beep, I wish there were no machines and everyone led a pastoral existence, trees and flowers don't deliberately cool you out and go beep in your ear"

I know, computer not telephone, but this came to mind...
As I realize
That all I need is to find
The middle pillar path to sit like the sun
by a star in the sky and just be.

I don't need you or anyone but me
I'll just be living my own life

Thanks.
I wouldn't say I have serious skills. I am proficient with power tools and can visualize things pretty well. I generally cut and build on the fly.
I don't do well when it comes to making plans, doing precise measurements and cuts, or fine joinery. Basically, I am a framer, not a finish carpenter :)
That is why I marvel at the amazing hardware builds I see in the modeling community. All that fine, scribing, decal cutting and applying, drilling windows, and all the other amazing things they do just blow me away.
