Custom Malice (Polaris) and Madelyne Pryor (Goblin Queen) Busts

#1 Post by UnicornPegasus »

Malice is a Bowen Black Cat bust as the base figure, that I then built off of. I used my "just enough to be dangerous" low level 3D sculpting "skills," to take an Assajj Ventress face and turn it into the Malice face/cameo base for her. I 3D printed the base plates it is an attached to as well, but then clad it in actual woven ribbons, to evoke the feeling of the choker band that the Malice pendant is always attached to. The hair is hand sculpted and I printed out an actual copy of the cameo from the comics, cut it out on archival card stock and covered it in UV resin to make the Malice choker on Polaris' neck (it is three dimensional like a cameo/cabochon would be.) I think that came out pretty nicely. The paint on the base is to have a translucent/opalescent feel to look like as close to a true cameo effect as I could.

Maddie was a damaged Linsner Dawn bust. She had some decent breaks to her fingers and base that I repaired. I hand sculpted all the loin cloth and cape bits, and sculpted her some flames to take the place of the masks the original held (those are removable for cleaning and moving.) Grinding off the sculpted tear was "fun." I finished it off with some layering of ruby red UV resin over a faceted cabochon for her big brooch/cape clasp that really pops and looks like a gem IRL, surrounded by a gold drop pendant border. I surrounded her with Limbo hellfire. I really wanted to surprise the patron with a little goblin/imp clutching her leg, but I didn't get it to work out. (I was using a monster high gargoyle pet as the base, and some extra arms I had laying around.)
