Lunar lander with lunar rover.

#1 Post by Modelmaker »

I'm wondering has there ever been a lunar lander model with the Lunar rover you could remove and set up like the prototype ? looking at the Facebook pages so many skeptics say the Lunar rover could never fit in the Lunar lander and a model of the lander could prove them wrong. Even if some modeler did build a Lunar with the Lunar rover would be great to see. Thank you.

Here's a link to an Atlantic article, showing both how the Rover was folded up and stored on the side of the lander, as well as photo of it on the moon's surface showing the open area that it was unfolded down from in the background.

Like you, I am unable to find a model kit, but if you're looking to silence some skeptics, those photos might go a long way! 😉

To be accurate, there is a model kit of both the lander and the rover, but not a model kit showing the Rover in the stowed position.

The Brazilian article below, if you scroll down, has an even better photo of the completely folded up Rover being popped into place on the side of the lander.

Thank all of you for these videos yea there are a lot of non believers out on Facebook saying we never went to the Moon most of them might be flat Earthers LOL maybe I can change some of them with these videos, I wonder if a model would be made with both the Lunar lander and the rover could be an interesting project with someone with nimble fingers to fold the lander LOL.

great pictures in that article. Thanks for posting. Yes and no one ever backed up a huge rocket and parallel parked it either.
