KOC Godzilla 2000 Resin 40 cm Commission

#1 Post by Jon LeGrand »

Last week I shared the 30 cm vinyl kit, here is the newer kit sculpted by Akira Ibaraki. Comes with 2 head options and a display base for the extra head, they have magnets built in already for easy change overs. Here is the video:

As always, the paint looks amazing. Really brings out all the great details on the kit.
Especially love the teeth color against that skin color.

And I really cannot choose a favorite between those 2 heads.
The open mouth looks awesome, but the closed mouth seems to give him a bit more attitude.

What a superb looking model, very spiky, mean and aggressive looking! I don't know this film at all,
but in many ways it's not important, the sculpt and your excellent build and paint stand alone with
need for explanation!

A great video once again, love the way you take us through the build and paint process as well as the
guided tour of the finished piece. Both heads look excellent and create different moods, I think I prefer
the bellowing, open mouth version :D

take care Jon and have a safe, but epic, Kaiju sized Christmas!

I do wish they used this type of design with new Godzilla...
I can't stand the new design of pork chop zilla..

It is one of my favorites as well. It is always interesting how different people feel about the different Godzilla designs, someone recently told me how they absolutely hate this design. Most people do agree that the worst is the Son of Godzilla design but there is probably someone out there who would say even that is their favorite!

Really outstanding! The display head looks exactly like one of those big (lifesize?) scale kits. Oh, by the way, my favorite design is the '62.

Thanks Larry! And 62 is also one of my favorites, to me the 1999 here borrowed some of the lizard like aspects of the 62, and the look of the eyes.

The 1999 had a "lean look" to it, not excessively so like the Tristar, but enough to make him look nimble in his battles. I still can't figure out the intent of the Legendary design other than distinguishing it from previous iterations. Maybe Toho wanted it different so if the 2014 film tanked it would not drag down the whole franchise. Fortunately it didn't. I hope Legendary is considering a makeover to Godzilla in their next venture with him.

I know this may upset some people, but I much prefer the Legendary zilla to the Shin version.
I just don't like it. It's almost as bad as the Son of Godzilla suit, and slightly worse than the 89.

Give me the 64, anything from 68-75, or the 2000. Those are my favorites.

Yeah, that would be good. To me, the Final War 2005 version is way too slim.

I like the 2001 and 2000 best I think, but the showa 62, 64 and 75 are great too.
