Songs You Hate!

#1 Post by Glusniffer »

This could be fun.....
So your driving along and a song comes on and its a song that is so overplayed that you instantly change the station! A song so reviled you want to puke and could care less if you never heard it again!!!! I have many but Ill start with...
Bohemian Rapsody.
Sweet Dreams are made of.
Devil Went Down to Georgia'
And ANYTHING by Michael Jackson and Prince!
Jeff doesn't follow directions.
Jeff doesn't pay attention.
Jeff doesn't use time wisely,
Jeff doesn't play well with others......

Hmmm.
Going to have to think about this one. None are coming to mind at the moment.

Hey Jeff

Well, I could list out genres of music I truly hate, but (like Trev) I'll have to think a bit to come up with specific songs.

I KNOW I have MANY from years gone by, but the fact that (nowadays) I don't do radio, and have my own playlists, bands, genres & YouTube preferences, means I don't get exposed to crap that often, and so am struggling to remember.

Plus my brain cells dying with increased rapidity as I get older doesn't exactly help (or perhaps that IS a good thing in this case :) ).

In my case, hate requires effort.
There are plenty of songs I will change channels hoping for something better, but will go back to if I don't find something else.
I mean, there are the usual suspects that I just don't like. Beatles, Doors, most Zeppelin or Stones songs.
It's all just too slow and boring.
But most classic rock stations have moved on, and now stuff from the 90's and early 00's are considered classic so I am cool with most of it.
And stuff I used to hate, I can now tolerate due to nostalgia.

Oh, yeah. Anything by U2.

There you go - 100% agree. Annoying music by annoying musicians.

Ah - I was JUST reminded (because they crop up on rock websites with the same frequency as gas releases after a night of Mexican food) . . . almost every song by Metallica I have ever heard.

And to complete the theme - I think the band stinks too! (usually)

I worked as a small/medium market radio DJ from 1979 to 1981, and during that time I developed an appreciation (not to mention a high tolerance) for a wide variety of music--as well as individual artists and bands. I learned to "tune out" songs that I did not like...but had to play. Turns out, a paycheck is a great motivator! For me to say I hate a song takes a lot, but there is a trinity of songs that are at the top of my "Welcome to Hell" mixtape. In no particular order, they are "Billy Don't be a Hero" by Bo Donaldson & the Heywoods, "You're Having my Baby" by Paul Anka, and "You light up my Life" by Debbie Boone. For me, these are all puncture your ears with a rusty screwdriver bad! :toilet:

I can only suggest investing in a good set of ear plugs, but you have my sympathy!

Yeah, these are all "moldy oldies", but the psychic scars left behind by having to play them occasionally will never heal.
