Good! - Yagher Bride of Frankenstein creature

#1 Post by derekc62 »

I finally finished my 1/4 scale resin bust of Karloff as the creature from the Bride of Frankenstein.

I lost a couple of weeks on this project because there was a week when I lacked inspiration to paint and I took another week off to visit my sister. C'est la vie...

There are only a couple of modifications: I altered the 3D-printed electrodes to make them more screen accurate and I added a sketch to the back where there was a lot of unused real estate. Also, this was my first real attempt at fire.

And yes, he has a slightly greenish tint 8)

Sculpted by Jeff Yagher and produced by Paul Gill

Thanks very much Vlad, Kev and Ric.

FYI, I the hair isn't grey, it's dusty since in the film he's covered by a lost of ash and debris.

Also, I was thinking of reflecting the yellow and orange flames on the jacket but if I had done that it would have meant he was literally on top of the fireplace, so I chose not to go that route.

Wow, so lifelike! I think this is one of the best skin effects I've seen on a figure, the textures, tones and subtle colours are so well observed. Brilliant work Derek, ballpark perimeter completely cleared!
All the best,
Paul
