KONG 'UP TOP' 2.0 - (Groman Poster Kong Kit)

Well, almost three years in the making, this completes the "Kong Up Top Trilogy" ... 2.0 was finished last because 'Kong 3.0' aka Cirpriano Kong leapfrogged it last year ...

Once again, I built the top of the Empire State spire underneath the dome, using the 'window' techniques perfected on the two earlier 'Kong Up Top' builds from 2023 & 2024 ... I hope Jim Groman, wherever he may be, will approve!

Just to add that Kong's paint job 'in life' is much more subdued, darker and nuanced than it appears in some of the photos that make it look more bright and garish than it really is. (I did MUCHO drybrushing using both acrylic and oil washes before I was satisfied). 'C'est la vie' as our French friends say.

As far as the Ann Darrow figure ... let's just say I tried VERY hard not to ruin her and I think I succeeded ... Those tiny eyes and mouth made me sweat when I painted them. Since my skill at painting human figures (particularly tiny ones) is sorely lacking, I'll count not ruining her as a "Win"!
