Hey everyone!
New to the site and really glad to be here. I wasn’t quite sure where to post my hello message, so if this isn’t the right place, my apologies!
I’ve been building and painting models for several years now but took a break for quite a while. After years of my dad going to the Military Miniature show in Atlanta, he finally convinced me to come along—and I’m glad he did! It pulled me right back into the hobby, and now both my kids (11 and 16) are hooked too. I’d forgotten how much fun it is, and it feels great to be getting back into it again and sharing this with my kids.
We’re kind of all over the place with our interests—from historical miniatures (Crusades and Napoleonic) to 1/4-scale fantasy and horror pieces. Filmy’s Girls kits are especially close to our hearts, but we also enjoy other various other interests fantasy, horror, and really like the WWII pin-up kits.
My dad and I try to meet up once a week to build and paint together, and it’s been great watching my kids join in and learn. Seeing that spark in their eyes made me want to keep fueling their curiosity and passion for the hobby—and also teach them the importance of spending quality time with family, no matter what the activity is. It’s been awesome watching it grow into something we all share.
We made it to Wonderfest for the first time last year—and what an amazing experience. Everyone we met was so kind and welcoming. The community as a whole has been fantastic, and I really appreciate all the encouragement and knowledge people have been so willing to share.
A little about me outside of modeling: I’ve always loved painting and drawing. I even dabbled in SPFX and animatronics for a while before ending up in my current career in software development. I’ve always been a tinkerer at heart and love building things.
I actually found this site while searching google and chasing down info on a few Filmy’s Girls kits we’re looking for and trying to learn more about Roberto Von Behr’s incredible sculpts. Just wanted to stop by, say hello, and give everyone a friendly wave.
Looking forward to being part of this awesome community!

Welcome Christian!
Wonderful story about how the whole family especially your kids got involved in model building!
The clubhouse is indeed the place to be to learn new techniques, display your builds, and especially post in progress threads with lots of pictures so that everyone can follow what you're doing.
Best of all, unlike that other social media place, you never get the feeling that you're standing in the middle of Grand Central station trying to outshout everybody else.
That's the wonderful thing about this place. We are a tight-knit group of modelers who love to share and learn, and especially enjoy seeing the incredible things that our members can create.
Best of all, you will find all aspects of the genre represented here. So look around, don't be shy about posting, and give us a look at some of your and your family's builds, both completed, and in progress.
Once again welcome!

Welcome. Sounds like you are having some great family fun with the hobby.
We have a little bit of everything here. Not a ton of traffic, but if you want to hang out and just have normal conversations that are easy to find, then I think you will like it here.
Everyone is more than willing to share tips and tricks, and show off their stuff.

Welcome to the Clubhouse, Christian!
It's encouraging to hear your kids are interested in the hobby. Please let them and your father know about the Clubhouse. There's a lot to browse here.
Curious to know if you found the CH by just browsing or if you found out about the site from Model Club TV? In any event it's great to have a new member!
Don't be shy about posting works in progress or any of your builds. There are only friendly and encouraging comments here.

Thanks all for the warm welcome, really looking forward to being an active member. I found the site by looking through the Resin Garage Kit Model Society FB page. Someone had made a reference to the clubhouse, then I remembered Matt Mrozek had mentioned it in one of his videos, about posting on the clubhouse looking for a kit, so I came here to check it out. I went down several Rabbit holes here and said oh I need to sign up
. I will pass along the info for the site and get them to sign up.
