Not as much bench time today as I had hoped, but I did manage to do a little putty work on MM. The primer showed a couple spots that needed attention.
And I got some airbrushing done on the base. Just a bit of pre-shading right now.

Nope. There was talk of it, but I don't think it ever happened.
I mean, the set disappeared rather quickly from their website, so I don't know if they got in some kind of trouble or what.

Still no pics today. Not much to show.
I cleaned up the putty on Zeke and hit it with more green paint. Still see some of the joint (right on the back of his neck) so a little later I will add a bit more putty on that.
Re-primed Michael after his putty work last night. Will check to see if I need to do any more tomorrow.
Did a bit of putty work on his hands and filed down the seams. Will need to re-prime.
Got a base coat of paint on the steps. Still need to do the steps.

I had a nice amount of bench time today. Lots of fun and took a few pics to share.

Image
Yesterday, I shot the grass on the base with some sepia ink, then drybrushed white on it.
Today I drybrushed the sidewalk with a light gray mix of paint. Then a touch of yellow on the grass, followed by bright green, then some darker green.
Tonight I sealed it so tomorrow I can give it an oil wash.

Image
The steps also got shot with sepia ink yesterday. Today I drybrushed a light brown on them, followed by a really thinned down spray of sepia.

Image
Then there is Michael himself. Today I shot him with paynes gray ink first. After that dried I hit it with some prussian blue hue. Then another layer of that mixed with white as it was too dark. Looking at the pics, I think I might need to give it a light sand as I am seeing a bit of texture from the paint.

Then tonight I dug out something I haven't touched in a while.
I have not worked on this kit since early 2016. (at least that was the date of the photo)
Image

I know I have other, more recent, kits I am working on, but I finally had an idea for a color scheme I want for this.
And since it has been in-progress since 2012, I figured now that I have inspiration, it should take some priority.

(I put completed in quotation because I still plan to come up with something better for a base)

Glad you are liking the skin color on Kothoga because I went further with it the last two days.
Yesterday was a bit of yellow for the bottom, blending in with the white.

Then today I darkened the very top of the creature.

Sadly, I am going to miss my goal for the Michael Meyers. It's close, but not done yet. I still have a lot of work to do on the hair, and think I will have a seam to deal with once I attache the head.

For the pupil, yes. It's a molded in recess so I figured that would be the best way to go. Too much chance that paint bristles would splay trying to get down in there.

Trying to decide what color to do the kothoga's nails. I think I'm gonna try black and see how that looks. I think white or tan would just blend in too much.

Got some more updates.
I think going with black is the way to go.
Image

I threw another one on the bench that has been WIP for way too long.
Image

Image
Last update I made on this was 2014 :o
I did glue the bridge piece to the Ghost wall earlier this year when I was using up some 2 part epoxy.
Now I put the aftermarket insert in the Prisoner base. Started fitting the floor section. Drilled the wall and the door for pins. And just generally getting all the base pieces ready to put together so I can prime the whole thing.

Apparently finishing the Crew of the Plutonium didn't completely scratch that itch for me.
I found another kit on etsy and it came in today (Saturday).
Image
Plan on priming it when I prime that big base.

And keep your eyes open for a thread about this one, as it's done!

Image

I still have to do the web page then add it to the gallery and create a thread for it.
