Custom Classic MIMIC from Bowen Angel bust WIP

#1 Post by Danno »

Hey All,

I was asked if I could convert a Bowen Designs Angel into the Classic Mimic.

Lots of resculpting here with the new beast hands, bigger shoulders, thicker
torso, new abs, belt, visor, meatier arms/forearms...yadda, yadda, yadda.....

Still have some clean up to do...a bit more sanding and I need an idea for the
base (any suggestions?)

Thanks for looking

Major big differance on him, I like the goggles
and the lines in the suit.

Looking really good, and I know the paint job
is going to masterful as well.

Thus far, the sculpt work looks extremely clean and on par with the Bowen base. What about a stylized "M" for the base decoration to echo his emblem?

Nice work Dan. I dont know if Iceman was around during this period but you could always have icecicles hanging from the base.

I will be painting this up, but it will remain a custom one off. Since the original sculpture is not mine...really all I did was customize over an exisiting sculpt.

Dan,

The original X-men remain my most favorite series from the House of Ideas. I have most of the original comics (starting from Issue 9) and the HC collections. The Mimic is one of the characters that are so ridiculous that they are filled with charm for me.

Your work really captures The Mimic. I think it's better than the original Angel, especially in the face.

You asked about the base, which no one has commented on. May I suggest the "M", as the chest logo is covered with the crossed arms?

Now, to see if you are a True Believer, are you working on the whole team? Graduation costumes or Original Kirbys?
