Bennwik Frankenstein Monster... Finished

#1 Post by john383 »

Hey all,
Please excuse the lousy quality of the photos but I wanted to post some pics to show what I've been working on.
It's an old rare kit from Sweden called "The Monster" (Thanks Joa!); which was nicely sculpted by Andreas Bennwick.
The base is scratchbuilt with a nameplate by our own Headless Hearseman, Fritz Frising.

Wow! That is so cool. I'll be sure to let Andreas know that some of his castings actually has survived and on top of that received an excellent paint job!

I like the redness on the eyes and tips of the fingers.

Also I like the Base and nameplate.. Came out great.

Great to see another Bennwick Frankie, was this the one Sassy had up for sale a few month's back :?:

Great job and that redness gives him that really bruised look =D>

I was fortunate enough to buy my good friend Anton Phibes's Bennwick and just love the sculpt

No, I bought this one from a member of the Clubhouse, direct from Sweden.
I also agree with you about liking the sculpt.
I think it's one of the best Frankenstein sculpts in 1/6 scale, right behind the Billiken and the Horizon.
(This kit is a little smaller however, more like 1/7 scale?)
And if looked at from the front in the right light - it looks like he's doing the robot dance, lol.

Thanks for the comments guys!
I appreciate your kind words.

I was hoping that a member of the clubhouse bought the one Sassy had up for sale.
This kit was such a limited run that i'd hate to see a recaster get hold of it.

I've always thought a kit of Fritz holding a burning torch in front of the monster would look fantastic 8)

I'd hate to see it recast as well, and I hope Sassy's sold that one to a reliable modeller.
What # was your kit Pete?
Mine was #11 and the one Sassy's sold was #4.
I was just wondering how many of these were made altogether.

Sassy's was no.5 and the one i have is no.4.

Maybe Anton Phibes may have some idea but i think it was a run under 20 casts

Can't say as I've ever seen this kit before, very cool kit though. Excellent paint job John! The bruised coloring add a nice cadaverish touch to the piece.
